Few people I know seem to have much desire or time to cook. Making Chinese(dish) is seen as especially troublesome. Many westerners come to China cook much less than in their own countries once they realize how cheap can be to eat out. I still remember(visit) a friend who'd lived here for five years and I(shock) when I learnt she hadn't cooked once in all that time.
While regularly eating out seems to(become) common for many young people in recent years, it's not without a cost. The obvious one is money; eating out once or twice a week may be(afford) but doing this most days adds up. There could be an even(high) cost on your health. Researchers have found that there is a direct link between the increase in food eaten outside the home and the rise in (weigh) problems.
If you are not going to suffer this problem, then I suggest that the next time you go to your mum's home dinner, get a few cooking tips from her. Cooking food can be fun. You might also begin to notice the effects not only on your health but in your pocket.
I'm not sure is more frightened, me or the female gorilla(大猩猩）that suddenly appears out of nowhere. I'm walking on a path in the forest in the Central African Republic. Unexpectedly, I'm face-to-face with the gorilla, who begins screaming at top of her lungs. That makes her baby scream, and then a 400-pound male appears. He screams the (loud)of all. The noise shakes the trees as the male beats his chest and charges toward me. I quickly lower myself, ducking my head to avoid (look) directly into his eyes so he doesn't feel(challenge).

Diets have changed in China-and so too has its top crop. Since 2011,the country（grow）more corn than rice. Corn production has jumped nearly 125 percent overpast 25 years, while rice has increased only 7 percent.
A taste for meat is(actual) behind the change. An important part of its corn is used to feed chickens, pigs, and cattle. Another reason for corn's rise. Last October , while tending her garden in Mora , Sweden , Lena Pahlsson pulled out a handful of small (carrot) and was about to throw them away. In 1863 the first underground passenger railway in the world opened in London. It ran for just under seven kilometers and allowed people to avoid terrible (crowd) on the roads above as they travelled to and work. At least, this is the conclusion (reach) by a team of scientists led by Greg Bryant, assistant professor of Communication Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. The researchers began by (request) volunteers from across the world to send them audio clips(音频剪辑) of people laughing. The 48 tapes they received (range) from recent recordings of laughter between two college friends ones from conversations made ten years ago. Bryan says that the results of this cross-cultural examination show that people all over the world know laughter in similar ways.
Chantelle Brow n-Young was not born with vitiligo (白癜风), but it has made her famous. She is the first supermodel with the skin condition, causes areas of skin to lose their colour.
Chantelle was born in Toronto, Canada. At the age of four she started to develop (patch) of white skin and (diagnose) with vitiligo. No one really knows why one percent of people (have) this skin condition, and there is no real cure.
At school, Chantelle was bullied for being different. The other kids often called her a 'cow', because of way her skin looked. She moved school several times and finally left school at 16. From now on, she decided, she (be) proud of her skin.
She got down to (post) photos of herself on Facebook and soon was 'spotted' by a Canadian YouTube star, Shannon Boodram, who asked her to be in a music video. It was while she was doing that her really 'big break' happened. Tyra Banks asked her to be on America's Next Top Model.

A free program (help) Milwaukee Public High School students realize their theater dreams at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
"My mom put me in acting classes I was seven because I was (extreme) shy," says 17-year-old Beatrice Low.
"And I just (take) to it like a duck to water, I guess."
Today, she's having the chance (work) one-on-one with a professional, touring actress through program at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
"I can't describe it, it's amazing, I love it," Low says.
It (call) "Arts Connect" and pairs a class of young actors with theater professionals for a weeklong workshop.
During one session, Beatrice works with actress Teri Hansen. She was in Milwaukee for the Marcus Center's recent touring (produce) of "An American in Paris."
"It's the favorite thing that I do, (work) with aspiring artists," Hansen says.
Together they work a song from the Andrew Loyd Weber musical "Tell Me on a Sunday," with an audience of Beatrice's young peers. No pressure.
The Marcus Center makes the Arts Connect program free for students from three Milwaukee public high schools. It's has been invaluable—even life-changing—experience, Beatrice says.

In 1608, Thomas Coryate, an Englishman, visited Italy. He liked the country and noted down every interesting thing he had found. But there was one thing he found (interesting) than the others. Chinese President Xi Jinping has praised a group of middle school students for their efforts in satellite design. He said he was pleased with their curiosity and bravery in (science) exploration. The president also wished the teachers and students in Bayi School happy new year.
Xi made the praise in a letter (write) to the students in Beijing's Bayi School on Saturday. A small satellite designed and developed by them (send) into space last Wednesday at Taiyuan Satellite Launch (发射) Center it was designed to operate in orbit (轨道) for 180 days.

Martin Strel swims with a knife (fasten) to his right leg—in case he meets sharks and other (dead) sea life in the world's wildest waters. 61-year-old marathon swimmer has announced the (tough) challenge of his life: a 10,000-mile-around-the-world journey on water (draw) public attention to the increasing water (pollute). He aims to circle the globe in about 450 days, passing through oceans, rivers, (canal) and other bodies of water in more than 100 countries. He will swim about 5 to 12 hours each day, depending on the weather. A boat will go him and offer emergency support and space for small breaks.
Since 2000, Strel (swim) the entire length of five rivers in China, America, etc. Strel will not be alone in the water. He says he welcomes is interested in joining him for parts of the route.
