        World language

        Once people  a language that everybody in the world could understand. Now, for the  time in human history, perhaps there is one -- English It is the official language in more than 50 countries and 250-300 million people  it as a second language. Some say that half the world will be speaking it in the year 2050.

        Difficult to master?

        English is not the  language to learn -- most of its common verbs are irregular and it has a large vocabulary -- at least 200, 000 words are in common use.

        Some other languages may have more speakers, like Chinese. But English  in many different areas. It is the language of transport: most airline pilots and air-traffic controllers use it. At  English is the international language of communication.

        The Future of English

        What is the future of English as a global language? Will  language ever replace it? Many think not -- it is already too popular.

    A Cloud of Hope and Danger

        In 2050, a small cloud floats through the air in a hospital operating room(手术室). In the room a patient, suffering from cancer, lies on a table. For this reason, nano robots will have to be programmed to build . Scientists will not have the ability to build millions of nano-robots one by one.

        This to reproduce(复制)is making some scientists worried. What if something goes wrong in the programming? Quite a lot of crazy nan-orobots would be far than any disease. Some people think that if they get out of control, nan-orobots could destroy the Earth.
