When you are talking with others, you are not just using words, but also using 2. For example, waving one's hand is to say "Goodbye". Shaking hands means welcome, and clapping hands 3 congratulations(祝贺). Nodding the head means YES, but shaking the head means NO.
Different countries have 4 body language. For example, when in 5 , France and Arab countries, people kiss each other when they meet, 6 men in China or Australia shake hands. People in Puerto Rico like touching each other, but people in Britain do not touch each other. People in Arab countries like 7 close to one another when they are talking, but English people must keep a distance away when they are talking. It is very important 8 the meanings of gestures and movements in the foreign country 9 they will help you communicate with people and make you stay there much more 10 and comfortable.

Can you speak English? Maybe you know a lot of English words. You can read, speak and understand English, but there is another kind of language—the language of the body. All over the world, people "talk" with their hands, their heads and their eyes. When Japanese people meet, they bow. When Indians meet, they put their hands together. When British and American people meet someone for the first time, they shake hands. They do not usually shake hands with their friends. Women sometimes kiss their women friends, and men kiss women friends on the cheek(脸颊). When a man meets a man friend, he just smiles, and says "hello". Men do not kiss each other, or hold hands. Even fathers and sons do not often kiss each other.
People in different countries greet each other in different ways. Here are some.
The United States
People shake hands when they meet for the first time. Friends and family members often hug or kiss on the cheek(脸颊)when they see each other.
Korea(韩国)
Men bow and shake hands to greet each other. Women do not usually shake hands. If you call someone, you use his or her full name. The family name comes first; then the first name.
Finland(芬兰)
Finns (芬兰人) greet each other with a handshake. Hugs and kisses are only for close friends and family members.
The Philippines(菲律宾)
The everyday greeting for friends is a handshake for both men and women. Men sometimes pat(轻拍) each other on the back.

My mother used to ask me what the most important part of the body was. I got different answers at different ages.
When I was young, I thought sound was very important to us, so I said, "My ears, Mum. "But she shook her head and said no. Several years passed, and she asked me again. I believed that I got the right answer after thinking it over. So I told her,"Sight is very important to everyone, so it must be our eyes. "But she told me I was wrong. I tried many times after that, but her answer was always the same. Till last year, my grandma died. Everybody was crying, and everybody was hurt. My mom looked at me and asked me with tears in her eyes,"Do you know the answer now?"I was surprised when she asked me this question then. "My son, the answer is your shoulder. Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on. "
Finally, I realized (意识到)all she hoped is that I can have enough love and friends so that I will have a shoulder to cry on when I need it.
On a Wednesday night, a young man was playing the guitar at the underground station. Some people stopped and put some money into his hat.
The next day, the young man came to the underground station again. There was a large piece of paper next to his hat. It said,"Last night, a kind man named Chris put something important into my hat. Please come to get it back soon."
About half an hour later, an old man came and the young man said,"Yes, I knew you would come back."
"What did you lose?"asked the young man. "$800,000,"answered the old man.
Then the young man took out a check(支票)and gave it back to the old man. The old man was so happy and thanked the young guitar player.
