Crocodiles (鳄鱼) lay their eggs and leave them under leaves or sand. Baby crocodiles use their teeth (break) their way out of the shells.
Crocodiles are (find) in Australia America. They spend most of their time (lie) around in the rivers. The crocodile's long tail is used when the animal is swimming. It is excellent weapon(武器). It can be used to strike(打击) the enemies. One blow will knock down a man or even a big animal at once. The crocodile has a hard neck. It cannot turn (it) head from side to side, so it can only see something in front of itself. The crocodile has its teeth (clean) by the crocodile bird. For its food this bird takes the bits in the crocodile's mouth. This helps the crocodile a lot, it cannot move its tongue up and down. With its terrible (tooth) it catches its food. The food may be a fish, an animal, or even a (careful) man.

"Well, we're in our new house. Let's get a new pet to get along with it," Mrs Brown said to her husband.
"That sounds like a pretty good idea," he answered. "Do you want to see the ads in the newspaper?"
"Let's go to the animal shelter. Many pets there need homes. Since tomorrow is Saturday, we both can go," she said.
The next morning the Browns met Mr Snow at the animal shelter. "We want to be sure that the pets here go to good homes," Mr Snow said, "so I need to ask you some questions."
After they talked for a while, the Browns decided to get a small dog. It wouldn't need a big house or a big yard. A small dog would bark and warn him if someone tried to break into their house. After Mr Snow gave the Browns a book on pet care, they chose one and wanted to take her home right away. But the animal doctor hadn't checked her yet. So Mr Snow told them to return on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon the Browns went to the animal shelter. The animal doctor said, "Shadow has had all of her shots. She will be healthy. "The Browns thanked the doctor and took Shadow home.
I volunteered at the vet's (兽医诊所) last summer vacation. Minnie was the most interesting dog that I saw there. Long hair covered her body. And her tail looked like a mouse's tail.
She was brought to the vet's because her owner didn't want her any more. Minnie was well-behaved(行为端正). "No one should judge(评判) her by her appearance," I thought. So the people of the vet's looked after her. Finally, I advertised Minnie in the local newspaper. "Funny-looking dog, well-behaved, needs a loving family." When a young man called, I told him that Minnie looked a little strange. The boy on the phone told me that his grandfather's old dog had just died. They wanted to bring Minnie to him. I gave Minnie a good bath. At last, an old car drove up in front of the vet's. Two kids brought Minnie to their grandfather who was waiting in the car. Then the grandfather held Minnie in his arms and touched her soft hair. Minnie kissed his face. She waved her tail so quickly. "She's great!" the old man said.
I was glad that Minnie found a good family. That's when I saw that the grandfather was blind.
