—Yes. He is clever boy.
—Thanks, Mrs Green. We will.
—What about some ?
—I to write a report last night.
I'm Mike from New York. When I was a child, my mother often told me, "Don't run around, 1 bad uncles will catch you. And you will never 2 Mom and Dad again."
"Why, Mom? Why would these 3 catch me?" I would ask." The city is a 4 place and we can't trust strangers, "she would reply. That might 5 the question of why my little brother never picks up calls from unknown people. It seems that he doesn't care 6 he misses an important call.
Well, have we been protected by our 7? Perhaps. The adults' thoughts are 8 easy to understand. They don't 9 their kids to be cheated(欺骗). And we kids meet the cheaters sometimes. Besides, we get some 10 about cheating in newspapers or on TV every day. That makes us 11 that we just cannot trust strangers.
To be honest, it's necessary and important to look after 12 well. But such protection can sometimes stop us 13 making new friends. We 14 learn to tell who can be trusted and who can't be trusted.
15, trust is like a mirror(镜子). When we offer trust to others, they might just show us trust in return.

Always be honest; dishonesty never pays.
For one little boy, it was the coldest winter because his father had an accident and lost a leg. The whole family got into trouble.
One night, while the boy was hanging out in a small shop, he saw some beautiful bags of coffee. Then he had an idea. He knew his father loved coffee and he also knew stealing wasn't good. But to make his father smile, the boy put a bag of coffee into his jacket and ran back home. His father smiled when he saw the coffee. But, unluckily, before his father could taste it, the shop assistant came and caught the boy. His father became so angry that he beat the boy.
Years later, the boy became a successful businessman. One day, his mother called and said his father wanted to see him. The boy was busy, so he refused. Weeks later, he received the sad news that his father had died. When he checked his father's things, he found an old box. Inside it was the coffee that he had stolen from the shop. On the bag his father had written:
"Dear son, I haven't been successful as a father. But I had a dream-to own a coffee shop. Then I could make cups of coffee for you. I'm sorry I didn't make my dream come true."
The boy felt so sad. He felt guilty about not meeting his father for the last time, and decided to achieve his father's dream. After giving up his own business, he started a coffee business. The coffee business is now a huge success.

The Oxford English Dictionary(OED)is thinking of adding the Chinese word tuhao to its 2014 edition(版本). The word has become popular in China since 2013. It is used to describe rich people who spend money in extravagant(奢侈的)ways. The word has also become popular in Western countries, too.
The word being used by people in foreign countries is an example of China's spreading influence in the world in not just economy(经济), but also society and culture. People are paying attention to what is happening in China and are gradually picking up some Chinese words. These words express special Chinese ideas, but they cannot be easily translated into English.
The OED is also thinking of adding hukou and dama to the 120 Chinese words that have been collected in its dictionary. Hukou means China's system(制度)that makes sure Chinese people can live in a certain place, and dama means middle-aged Chinese women who influence the global gold markets because of their gold-buying habits.
The news that the OED will include these Chinese words has been criticized. Some people say the words can be embarrassing to some people in China, but others think that it's natural for words to spread and be used in other places. In fact, the word tuhao expresses the humor of China. It is easy to pronounce and it makes fun of rich people who have more money than taste.
So, welcome to the English language, tuhao-let's be friends!

Americans spend their weekends in different ways. But usually they choose the same aim— to rest, to enjoy the time with their family and friends.
Some Americans hold parties on Saturday night. Then they won't get up until 9, 10 even 11 o'clock next morning. As soon as they get up, they will go to the nearest corner ship to buy the daily newspaper. It will help them to decide what to do on Sunday afternoon.
Before going out on Sunday, they will have a meal, which is called " brunch"—"br" from "breakfast" and "unch" from" lunch". After brunch some Americans may have a picnic with their family or friends. They will take many things with them, such as fresh vegetables, seafood, drinks, table cloth and so on. Usually they drive to a beautiful park, a lake or the seaside.
