Keeping pets is nothing strange nowadays. Is it good for people to keep pets in their houses? People have different 1.
Quite a number of people think that it's good to keep pets in the house, especially for the old. The pets can keep them from being 2as well as make them feel safe. If children keep pets, they will become more caring and3, because they need to look after their pets as4 as they can to keep them healthy. So keeping pets is quite a good way for young parents to 5 their children. What's more, you house can be 6care of by pets when there's no one at home
However, some people 7 with those pet owners. These people think keeping pets is not 8, because pets may have some viruses(病毒). Besides, carrying pets with you when taking public transportation(交通工具) is not so convenient, because others might feel uncomfortable.
As to me, if one keeps pets, he or she should treat them in the right way. For example, they should wash pets often to keep them 9. And never forget to 10 some time with pets every day.
Welcome to "Share Ideas"! I'm Tony Brown. This is Professor Lira He is a scientist. He has many exciting ideas about life in the future. Let's listen to what he has to say!
"I think in the future, travelling will be much cleaner and safer. Most cars will run on solar energy(太阳能). There will be less pollution. The cars will be driven by computers and there will be no accidents(事故). All of the computers will work together with radio signals(信号)."
"I also think that people will be able to go back to the past through a time tunnel(隧道). If they do something wrong, they will be able to go back and do it again and try not to make the same mistake."
"Housework will become much easier because you'll just tell a robot to do it."
"In the future, people will be able to talk with each other on the phone more easily, and you'll be able to see the person you're talking to on the screen of the cellphone."
What do you think life in the future will be like? Send us a letter.

Not every dog is right for children and not every child is right for a dog. Most dog or child problems I meet involve children under six years old. If your children are under six, you should invest a great deal of time and thoughts before choosing a new dog. Large guard dogs or dogs which have a history of being aggressive(好斗的) or biting should be avoided. Large and high-energy dogs that can knock children over would not be good choices either. Instead, parents should consider the little gentle dogs.
Parents with little children are usually very busy. They often do not have free time or desire to spend hours cleaning or walking a dog. In fact, a dog requires almost as much time as a child does. So ask yourself if you are ready to keep a dog when you are already very busy. As a veterinarian, many of the problems I meet are caused by the excuses like "the dog would be good for the kids" or "the children begged for one", but the parents do not really want a dog. If the parents cannot completely care for or train the dog, then I usually stop them from keeping a dog, otherwise it is not fair to the dog.
There are many wetlands in China and some of them have become the world's important wetlands. The Chinese Yellow Sea Wetlands are among them. They are in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. They are home to many different kinds of animals. The world's largest Milu Deer Nature Reserve is in them. More than 700 Milu deer live freely there. There are not many red- crowned cranes in the world, but every winter you can see some in the Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve in the Yellow Sea Wetlands.
The temperature in the wetlands is usually neither too high nor too low. There is a lot of rain and sunshine too. They are really good places for wildlife. Offering(提供) food and home to some special kinds of animals is not the only reason why we need to protect wetlands. Wetlands are important because they also prevent flood. But some people want to change the wetlands to make more space for farms and less space for wildlife.
Luckily, more and more people are beginning to realize the importance of wetlands and wildlife. Every year, on February 2nd, many activities are held to tell people more about wetlands.
More than anything else in the world, Lion liked being King of the jungle. He walked all around, showing off his power and pride.
Each day Lion took a long, lazy sleep under the shade of his favourite tree. He always dreamed of weaker animals bowing(鞠躬) before him.
One day Mouse ran through the jungle and tripped(绊倒) over Lion's huge paws. Lion woke up with a start. "How dare you wake me up!" he shouted angrily. Lion grabbed Mouse with one paw. "On second thought, I'm in the mood for a snack, and you'll make a delicious meal," he said.
Mouse cried out, "King Lion, please spare(饶恕) me! If you let me live, I will always remember your kindness. And, some day, I might be able to help you."
"How could such a powerless little mouse ever help me?" That thought made Lion laugh so much that he decided to let Mouse go. A week later, Lion was walking through the jungle on the way to his favourite tree when he stepped onto a hunter's net. The net scooped him up. No matter how he twisted and turned, he couldn't escape.
When Mouse heard Lion's frightened shouts, he raced to help. Mouse quickly chewed(咬)through the ropes to make a hole in the net. Soon, Lion moved out and was free. Lion looked down at the little mouse. "Thank you for saving my life," said Lion, smiling his widest smile. "I was mistaken. You are not a powerless little mouse. You are a great friend!"
In January, 2017, a Chinese "diplomat(外交官)" came back to China from the United States. Many US people were at the airport and said goodbye to her. Who is the diplomat? She is a 3-year-old panda called Bao Bao.
Bao Bao was born at the National Zoo in Washington D. C., the US in 2013. Her parents are Tian Tian and Mei Xiang. China sent them to the US in 2000."We have watched Bao Bao grow up during the past three years," said Dennis Kelly, the zoo director. "We're going to miss her so much."
Why does Bao Bao have to come back to China? It's because all the pandas born in foreign countries must come back to China before they turn 4. This is an agreement between China and other countries.
Bao Bao spent about 16 hours on the plane home. A zookeeper and a doctor stayed with her along the way. The zoo also put bamboo, apples, biscuits, potatoes and water on the plane. Now, Bao Bao is happy at her new home in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Bridges are built for many reasons. Some bridges are built so that cars can cross over rivers. are made for trains to use. In Washington State, there is a very (usual) bridge. It was built for squirrels(松鼠). The town of Longview has a very busy street. Many cars pass every day. When squirrels tried to cross the street, they (kill). Amos Peters wanted (protect) these small and lovely animals, so he built a bridge for them--one that would let them pass above the traffic.
The bridge (be) a symbol of the town for over 40 years since then. And every Christmas, the local people add a small Christmas tree to the centre of the bridge. lovely!
A few years ago, the local people created squirrel festival and they raised money (build) two more bridges for these lovely animals. For years, because of the bridges, the squirrels in the town have been able to cross (safe) from one side of the street to the other.
