Like two different worlds
I come from London, a very big city! Over 81people live there, and it's always busy with tourists. So moving to a little town2only 15, 000 people is a big change for me! I am living in a little town in the countryside in Germany now.
In the countryside, the towns are 3so everyone knows each other. At home in London, I don't even know my neighbours! Another nice thing about the countryside is that it's very green and there's lots of fresh air. I like nature, and it's nice to see4the seasons change the trees. My favourite thing about living in the countryside is that I can see thousands of 5 at night. At home I can hardly see any! That's because there's 6light in the city, but here everything is dark and the stars twinkle in the sky.
One thing I do like about living in a city is that it's7to travel. We have the subways, buses and trains, and we even have buses that run all night. Here, the last train is before 9 pm, and there's only one an hour! Another good thing about cities is that there are lots of 8, so you can usually find what you need. In my town here there aren't many shops, 9I have to go to the nearest city!
I always thought I was a city girl, but now I like the countryside too. They are like two different worlds, but10feel like home!

Mrs Brown lives in a small town in Australia. There is a big farm near the town.
On Saturday morning, she goes to her small shop. She opens the window of the shop and looks at the farm. It's very beautiful. There are many cows, horses and small animals on the farm. Suddenly she sees a kangaroo with her baby. It's interesting to see them! The mother kangaroo is wearing an old jacket. They stand there and look hungry. Mrs Brown gives some bread to them. The kangaroos get it. Then they become happy and jump away. Suddenly a wallet drops on the floor from the jacket pocket. She picks it up and finds $ 300 and a photo in it. That is a man's photo with his name "John" on it. "John? I have a brother. His name is also John,"Mrs Brown says. "Is this man my lost brother?" she thinks.
She takes the wallet with her and begins to look for the man. She asks many people in the town, and then she comes to the farm and asks the farmer. Hey! It is John, her lost brother. They are very happy to see each other.
Jogging is good for us and helps us live longer and have a healthier life. It's easy to do and free. You do not have to spend money jogging. You can do it in a park or even in your home. But many people find it boring after jogging for a while. Then how can we keep jogging fun? Here are some ideas to make your jogging more interesting.
First, you should choose to wear your favourite sports clothes and shoes when you jog. They make you more comfortable and more likely to run.
Always jog outdoors(在户外). By changing your route and choose another street, you will always have something interesting to enjoy when you jog.
Take along your MP3 player and listen to your favourite songs when you jog. The music can make you excited and run farther without feeling bored.
It's always more enjoyable with a friend. Make friends while jogging. Join a running club, or invite an old friend to go jogging. It's better to find a friend who runs a little faster than you. Then you can try to catch up with him or her.

Jim Green is from London. He is now in Beijing. He visited many interesting places in Beijing, but he was too busy to visit other parts of China before. He had a (旅行) to Mount Emei in Sichuan with his (同学) last week.
Jim thinks that travelling by train is the best (选择). It doesn't(花费) much and it is far more (令人愉快的) than taking a plane. They had a wonderful train ride to Chengdu before they went on to Mount Emei by bus.
The train was quite nice and tidy, and it wasn't (拥挤的) in their sleeping car.
They could stand up and walk (到处). It was a long way, but (没人) of them felt tired. They kept watching the beautiful things through the window. They talked, laughed and played cards. The conductor(列车员) kept coming to give them hot water and selling them newspapers. People (附近) talked with each other. A young man tried to speak with him in English. Jim thought the train was like a big moving party. He went to sleep late. He enjoyed listening to the sound of the running train and then fell(睡着的).
Last night I went to see a film with my friend, Tom. The film was at the Sunshine Film Theatre. Tom said that it was the (good) film theatre in our city. I thought it had the most comfortable seats and the biggest (screen). But all was different what I expected(预料). The screen was(bigger) but we couldn't see the film (clear). The seats were really hard. We felt (comfortable) when we sat on them. I went as soon as the film was over.
Another thing that made us angry was the tickets. There were so many people (wait) at the ticket office. It took us about an hour to get the tickets.
I don't think it is the best film theatre in our city. I think it's the(bad) one.
New York is a very large city with more than eight million people. How do so many people move on their way to work or school? In New York you can travel by subway, bus, taxi and private car.
The subway runs on the railroad lines under the city. Travelling by subway is the fastest way to get around the city. The second way to travel around the city is by public bus. It is a slower way to travel. This is because the traffic is very heavy.
You can also travel around the city by taxi. This is very expensive, but the taxi will take you to every place you want to go. If the traffic is heavy, the taxi will be slow too.
During the mornings and afternoons, there is the "rush hour". This is the time when the traffic is very heavy with people going to and from work. The last way to get around New York is using your private car. It is inconvenient(不方便的)because you will perhaps be driving during the "rush hour". The best time to travel around the city is from 9 am to 4 pm, because it isn't the "rush hour".
