Long long ago, there was a small village in the Middle East. In the village there was an old man (call) Sthira. He lived by himself. His only son had gone far away to study. Sthira friends (wonder) whether his son would return, Sthira always said," Whatever happens, happens for good."
One day the old man's son returned and the villagers were very happy for Sthira. He thanked the villagers and said (polite), "Whatever happens, happens for good." However, later Sthira, s son broke his Once again the villagers came to visit him and once again the old man thanked (they) and said," Whatever happens, happens for good." Some of the villagers were surprised (hear) this. Why? What was good? His son's leg got badly hurt!
After a few days, the army came to the village and forced all the young men (join) the army. When they found his son had a (break) leg, they left him behind. Once again, all the villagers came to congratulate him on his luck. Like always, the old man was still thankful to them and said, "Whatever happens, happens for good."
I still remember the first time I left home for several (night). I was going to a summer camp for a month. When my parents told me about the camp, I was (excite), because there were lots of activities there.
The whole family drove me to the camp. When we arrived, I saw a lot of kids, but I didn't know (someone). I began to feel nervous. They gave me a little card my name on it. Then, who looked (old) than me, came up to me and said "Hi, Margie! I'm Sara. Our cabin is the Pines."
Finally the time came when my parents said, "Well, Margie, goodbye. Have great time. And don't worry, we'll write to often."
I had an awful feeling. I wanted (cry). But just then another girl of my age came up to me and (say)"Hi, are you Margie? I'm Tammy. I'm in the Pines too. Come on. Let's go to see the horses."
Finally I had a (wonder) month at camp.
The whole school was talking about the winter camp. And everyone (be) looking forward to it except me because I thought I would get homesick. But it was the way we grew up.
When (arrive) at the camp, we were asked to ski(滑雪)down to the field by the coach. I skied (careful), but I still hit a piece of ice and fell down.
"Haha!" somebody started laughing behind me. I looked back to see was laughing at me. To my surprise, I saw girl in the same embarrassing(令人尴尬的) position I was in. "I thought I'd be bad at this, but it seems (difficult) than I expected!" she said. Suddenly, I started laughing too. After being so afraid of (fall), it was comfortable not to fear it any more.
The next day I didn't want to go ski jumping, I was chosen to do first. But when my (foot) left the ground, I felt I was flying and it was wonderful.
Just do your best (meet) every challenge. You'll never imagine how much you will get.
Do you want to travel on your own? Being exchange student is good way. Exchange students can live in a foreign country and learn (it) language and culture. Students go to a local (当地的) school live with a host family, often for six (month) to a year. These programmes (be) very: good for students. They can learn a lot about a (difference) culture. They can also learn to be more independent and (feel) more confident (自信的). Being an exchange student helps you (make) friends with different people. Besides, it can help improve your (understand) of the world. Exchange students share their own culture with people in the new country as well.
A new term begins. We are glad (return)to school again. In Grade 8, we have a new subject . Some students think it is hard, but some think it is (interest) Mr. Smith is our teacher. He is from (English). He is friendly and (knowledge) He advises us (study) hard.
In his first class, Mr. Smith asked what we liked and . The students were active about this question. Kate told us her favourite food was (pancake), but she didn't like meat. To our Tony, a naughty boy, said that he liked (copy) others homework, for he didn't like study.
Do you want to learn English well? Here (be) some advice that I can give you to make your English better. The first point is the most important. You must understand it's your duty(责任) (learn) English well! Studying English is your own duty. It isn't the duty of your teacher or your parents.
Work as hard as (impossible)! You must be active in class and practise (speak) English often in class or out of class. You should (do) all of your homework, read and study vocabulary after school
Keep studying! (not) stop for a long time such as during a summer holiday! To make progress, you should study for at least 5hours every week.
Make English study become your hobby and have fun.

Singing-Sing your favourite English again and again
Watching DVDs- don't you DVDs? It can make you relax yourself and improve your English.
Travelling-What about (travel) in English-speaking countries? You can learn a lot from your travelling.
In 1990, when I (be) nine years old, I wanted very much to find penfriend. I found Ashley's address in a magazine, and decided (write) to her.
I sent off my letter with a little hope. Very quickly, I received her letter. my surprises Ashley was only one month (old) than me. I learned some new expressions from her. I (real) liked this new friend
Letter after letter, year after year, Ashley and I continued to write to one another. A letter would be received and I'd write back right away. We would send each other birthday and Christmas (gift).
Eight years later, my parents decided it was time me to meet this friend. They drove me down to Mississippi for a few days. We (have) a good time together. We did the things that teenage girls loved to do.
Twenty—five years after the (one) letter, Ashley and I still have an amazing friendship. Although we don't write letters now, we communicate through mobile phones and the Internet.

I went to England last year. I enjoyed my stay, and I noticed something interesting with the English way life.
For example, you must say Mr and Mrs when you meet someone for the (one) time. Where you get to know each other (well) or when they ask you to, you can just use their first names.
One day, we visited some friends and had afternoon tea together. Afternoon tea is not just a drink 4 a light meal at around p. m. We ate (sandwich) and a large fruit cake. In England, you usually drink tea with milk. So I tried to drink tea with milk too.
Fish and chips is (tradition) food in England, You can buy it and eat it in special fish and chip shops on the high street, or you can take it away and eat it with your fingers! It is delicious!
At the bus stop, you push your way onto the bus. You need (stand) in a line and wait your turn. Sometimes people are slow to get on the bus. Once I noticed a gentleman (touch) a young man on the shoulder, smile (polite) and say, waiting for this bus.
Lots of us have dreams of doing big business when we grow up. However, Moziah Bridges, a 14-year-old boy in the USA, is now the CEO of his own company. He (sell) $ 200, 000 bow ties (领结) since 2011.
One day about four years ago, when Moziah (shop) for bow ties, he found they were only in "ugly" black red. He wanted a change. So he asked his grandma (teach) him how to sew (缝), and finally developed the talent for creating bow ties. However, his first bow tie (not look) nice. The boy never gave up and kept on (practise). He used colourful cloth with different pictures. His parents and friends started to like his bow ties. Then he tried sell them online to several shops in the south. Moziah's bow ties soon (become) popular.
Now his business has increased quickly. As Bridges' mother said, "You don't have to wait" you're older. If you (have) a dream, just go for it. "
