One Sunday morning, Ben went to a barber's(理发师)shop and had his hair cut. When he came out, he was not happy with the result. In the evening, he met his friend Bob. He laughed and asked. "What happened to your hair, Ben?"
Ben agreed, "Yes, I think you're right, Ben. Mind you! Now I'll tell you what to do when you go into a barber's shop next time. What you need to do first is to look at all the barbers' hair, find out whose hair looks the worst, and then go straight to him."
"Why shall I go to him?" Ben asked in amazement, "But that would be foolish(愚蠢的)!"
"Oh, no, it wouldn't," answered Bob. "Who cut that man's hair? Just think about it. He couldn't cut himself, could he? Another of the barbers cut it. "

Long ago, a young man often said that he was very poor and had nothing. One day, an old man walked past. He heard the young man's words and said, "Hello, young man! What are you talking about? You have nothing? That's not true! You have the most expensive things in the world, so you are a rich person." The young man was very surprised and asked, "Why do you say that? You can see I have nothing. What are these expensive things?" Then the old man said, "If you sell your eyes to a rich blind(盲的) man, you'll make a lot of money and can get everything you want. Would you like to sell them?" The young man didn't want to be blind, so he said, "No." The old man asked again, "Then what about selling your hands for some gold(金子)?" The your and shook his head for the second time. At last, the old man said, "Now you understand. You have the most expensive things in the world." So the old man taught both the young man and us a lesson—-health is the most important for us.
If you go to a fast food restaurant, you will probably see a lot of teenagers. Today, many teenagers are overweight because of their had eating habits. Most teenagers love food with a lot of fat(脂肪), oil, salt, and sugar. People often call this kind of food "junk food".

In a survey(调查)at one school, scientists found that more than two-thirds(三分之二)of the students didn't follow a healthy diet(饮食). They didn't like vegetables, and many of them didn't like to eat fruits. They liked to eat food with a lost of salt, sugar, or fat.
Parents today also worry about their children's diet. Some doctors give the following ideas:
★ Teenagers shouldn't eat too much junk food.
★ Teenagers shouldn't eat food with too much salt.

In most countries, people usually have food on special holidays. A special day in the United States is Thanksgiving. It is on the Thursday in November, and is a time to give for food in the autumn. At this time, people also remember the first from England who came to live in America about 400 years ago. They had a long, hard winter, and many of them . In the next autumn, they gave thanks for life and food in new home. These days, still celebrate this idea of giving thanks by a big meal at home with their family. The main dish of this meal is almost turkey, a large bird.

Some are more like strange machines, They do most of dirty or dangerous jobs over and over again. Robots never get bored or tired but humans will if they do the same jobs. Scientists believe there will be more new robots everywhere, but it may take hundreds of years. They will have different shapes. They will look like humans or animals. In India, scientists made robots that look like snakes. They can help find people inside fallen buildings.

The purpose of students who come to school is to study. But studying needs right ways. The following opinions are ways of studying.
The best time to read is morning. Because in the morning, the air is fresh and our minds are clear.
When we study, we must be patient(有耐心的). If we don't understand a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next until we have learned the first one well.
When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book. We cannot read absentmindedly(心不在焉),or we couldn't get anything form the book while we are reading.
We must always ask "why". If we can't understand well, write it down and ask our teachers or parents, brothers or friends, in any possible ways.
Though there are many ways for studying, however, the above mentioned will be helpful if we can keep them in heart.
