According to a study, about 85% of Grade 11 students in Canada have their own mobile phones. About 52% of Grade 7 students and 24% of Grade 4 students also carry mobile phones.
In many schools, students must turn off their mobile phones and leave in their schoolbags during school hours. Some schools even don't allow students (take) mobile phones to school.
Do you know why these schools don't want students to use mobile phones at school? One of the main (reason) is that mobile phones can distract(使分心) students their study.
Many of these mobile phones are "smartphones", and they can be (use) to surf the Internet, send text messages, play games, take (photo) and listen to music. Mr. Jackson says, "Many teachers like me are also (worry) that students will use mobile phones to cheat (作弊) in tests, or to record videos of teachers or other students and post them online."
, some people have different opinions. They think mobile phones are (use) at school. Students can use them in class (watch) educational videos online. Mobile phones can be especially useful in the schools where there aren't enough computers. What's more, some parents want to be able to reach their children during the day. They want their children to take mobile phones all the time.

You are young. You should learn how to yourself.

My mother was telling me about how she and her family got their first television when she was a teenager. Of course, it was black and white. She said she only watched it at night. When I was young, we had only about 3 or 4 different channels. My brothers, my sisters and I would sometimes fight about which channel to watch. But we usually enjoyed the same shows.
Nowadays, we can get hundreds of channels on TV. There are channels with old movies, cooking, fishing and so on. It's amazing! I wonder how much my brothers, my sisters and I would fight if we had hundreds of channels when I was a child. Of course, we had only one television set. These days I notice families with 2 or 3 or more television sets in their homes. I guess it stops people from arguing over which channel to choose.
My father was sick badly,so he needed a lot of help to do the everyday things.
Dad was sitting in his old armchair and listening to the radio when I arrived. He 1and smiled.
“What's new,Jim?”he said,2 I sat down on the sofa.
I wanted to tell him all about my problems at work,3I couldn't seem to find the works.4 he think that I was a failure, out of work at 58?”Nothing much,”I said, finally. He told me lots of family news.He was in 5 spirits. Then it was time for Dad to 6 his medicine.
“I'll get it,”I said.I went into the kitchen and7a glass of water from the fridge.I found a red apple in the kitchen.I cut it into small slices, put them on a plate. He was very 8 and looked as if he were going to cry.
“Dad?What's the matter?”I asked.
“9 has cut me an apple like that since your mother died,”he said.”it's just like what she used to do.”I shut and opened my eyes quickly to bring 10 the tears.I couldn't let myself cry in front of him.
