It was Sunday yesterday. Steve had a 1 weekend. 2Sunday morning, he played computer games with his friends at home. 3 the afternoon, he went shopping with his mother. They 4 many kinds of food and vegetables. It was 5 interesting for him. In the evening, he enjoyed a talk show with his parents. The show was 6 funny. Steve thought the weekend was really great.
But Ann had a busy weekend. She 7 stopped working. On Sunday, she went to visit her uncle. He is a 8 and has a farm. Ann helped him 9 the horse with grass(草). In the evening, she cooked dinner for her parents. After dinner, she did the dishes. Then she went out 10 a walk with her dog. That was really a busy weekend for Ann.
I am Dave. Some of my classmates are talking in the classroom.
Jill: My grandparents live on a farm. I went there with my sister. We stayed for seven days. The weather was usually sunny, so most of the time I played outside with my sister. On the farm, I milked cows, fed chickens and rode horses. I had a lot of fun. I think my trip was great.
Mark: I went to Shanghai with my parents. I wanted to visit some museums, but my parents wanted to go shopping. I didn't like going shopping. So I stayed in the hotel and watched TV all day. It was really a boring trip.
Anna: I think the best place for a holiday is the beach (海滩). I went to Sanya with my brother last year. The sand there was white, and it looked very beautiful. We built (建造) a big house with it. We swam and enjoyed the sunshine. We ate many kinds of seafood. They were delicious. The trip was great. I hope I can visit there again one day.

Tom's father has a big farm. On New Year's Day, his father asked him, "Could you work on the farm when you're free this year, Tom？"
"Farming is not my work, Dad. I have much schoolwork to do, "Tom wasn't glad at it.
"If you help me work on the farm, I will give you anything you want."
"OK, "Tom agreed happily.
So Tom gets up early and works hard on the farm in his free time this year, just like other farmers. His wheat grows very well.
Time flies. Today is the last day of the year, December 31st. The father is talking with his son.
"I'm happy to see you work hard on the farm. Tom, now tell me what you want as the gift."
Tom shows his father a big piece of bread. He makes it with the wheat on his farm. "I have already gotten(已经得到)your gift, Dad. You're trying to give me a lesson-no pain, no gain. Right?"
Mr. and Mrs. Green had different ideas about where to go last weekend. Mrs. Green wanted to go to Florida to see her sister, but Mr. Green didn't like to go there. He wanted to go to Maine. "Maine is a little cold," said Mrs. Green, "I like swimming, but the water in Maine is usually not warm enough."
"Florida is too far," said Mr. Green, "We don't have enough time to drive there. It'll take us more than two days."
Just then, the telephone rang. Mr. Green answered the phone. It was Mr. Green's mother. "Is that Jim? Please come in the shortest time. I need help. I'm calling from the hospital in Boston."
They stopped their talking, and in no time they both went.

Oct. 8th
October 1st is our National Day. It was Sunday. In the morning, our teacher took us to the park. Oh, there were many people. Everywhere we could see flags(旗帜) and flowers. We saw people dancing in the park. We had a good time.
This morning I did some cleaning. Then I went to school. In the class, our teacher told us a very interesting story. It was about a French scientist Ampere. Once he was walking in the street. He began to work at a problem on a "blackboard" with a piece of chalk. But it was not a blackboard. It was the back of a carriage(马车). Ampere didn't notice(注意) it at all. How hard he worked at his problem!
In the evening, it became cloudy. It's going to rain tomorrow, I think.
