James used to have a (甜的) tooth and he liked fast food as well. He said fast food (闻起来) and tasted so great. One of (爱好) was sitting in the sofa with a bag of candies and watching his favourite (卡通片). He never went to take (锻炼). As a result, he was very fat and often had (感冒). His mother always told him to pay attention to his (健康), but he didn't listen.
Now after a bad (疾病), James decides to make a change. He is now a (成员) of a running club and he goes running with others for half an hour every day. What's more, he has (参加) part in long-distance races several times. Although he is often the last one to finish the races, he is still very happy because he has really made a big difference.

Do you expect (know) more about the stars and planets? Would you like to make a model space station? would you like to visit the science museum to discover more about space? You would? Then join our school's new Space Club.
At our first meeting we are going to learn about moon and the planets. So far, we (learn) something about them in our science lessons, but at the Space club we are going to find a lot. (much). We know that (science) have recently made new discoveries about several of the planets. Mr. Lu, our teacher, has invited a famous person to come and talk to us about the latest space news.
Our first meeting will be in the Science Lab on the first floor of the Science (build). The meeting is on Thursday 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. First, Mr. Lu will tell us about the (difference) things that we are going to do at the club, and then at 5:30 pm the talk will begin. There will be time for you (ask) questions, so please think about what to ask before you come here.
My husband and I just had a wonderful week with our granddaughter Jenny. We play on the beach, swam in the sea and just1being together.
We all had a good time,2then came the saddest time. We had to say3.
We planned to leave early the next morning, so4I hugged Jenny before bedtime, we knew it was also goodbye. She cried, "5, I don't want you to go"
I6exactly know how she felt, so I hugged her tightly(紧紧地). When I was sure7I should say to her, Jenny said, "Could you8me a note like you did last time?" It took me a while to understand what she was9. I remember when we left from our last visit,10wrote her a note and put it on her desk.
So later that night, I wrote several notes to my Jenny and11them in places where I knew she'd find them: by the12where she'd watch her favourite programme, in her bags, on the beach umbrella she'd use when she went out to the pool. I13my loved Jenny would feel loved again when she found the notes.
I know Jenny isn't the14one who received love notes. I believe many others once left this kind of note to their loved ones.15offer directions(方向) for our lives, and comfort for days when we're hurt. I hope that everyone will get love when they need it!
Up to 65% of children don't get as much sleep as they should do, and this can make them nervous and slower at school, scientists say.
So how long should young people sleep each night? The answer is between eight and ten hours. If you don't get enough sleep at night, you'll have less energy the next day.
But the scientists say many children have missed out on 4, 500 hours of sleep by the time they are seven years old. They say that children miss sleep because they have TVs and computers in their rooms, and busy parents don't read to their younger children at night any more. The traditional "bedtime story" helps children to relax and fall asleep peacefully. Children with TVs and computers in their bedrooms were more likely to sleep badly, and to get less than eight hours' sleep. Even losing one hour's sleep a night can mean that children do less well at school.
German scientists think that your brain(大脑) keeps working while you are asleep. To show that they were right, they gave two groups of people a problem to work out. One group went to sleep, and the other group stayed awake. The result? The people who slept worked out the answer more quickly. This showed that their brains had been trying to find the answer while the people were asleep. So, make sure you get enough sleep tonight, and you'll be at your best tonight, and you'll be at your best tomorrow!
Zhao Hua is a student from a university. He has led a group of university student volunteers since last year. They help children at a primary school with their studies and daily lives.
"When I was a small child," Zhao said, "I knew March 5th was a day for people to learn from Lei Feng and help others, but I didn't know the real meaning of the spirit(精神) of Lei Feng. Now when I see the smiling faces of the kids I have helped, I deeply understand Lei Feng. Helping others makes me happy."
Lei Feng (1940-1962) is one of the best-known soldiers in Chinese history. He lost his parents when he was very young. His neighbors brought him up. He died in an accident at the age of 22. He did many good deeds in his short life. For example, he gave his own money to the parents of another soldier, and bought a ticket for a woman he didn't know without telling her his name.
On March 5th, 1963, Chairman Mao called on people to "Learn from Lei Feng" and made the day "Lei Feng Day".
Today almost 50 years has passed since Lei Feng's death. Some people say that the spirit of Lei Feng is out. There have been many reports about the coldness(冷漠)of people towards strangers. This has made many Chinese people think deeply about themselves.
Many people think We need to promote(提倡) that spirit again. The important thing is that we must be ready to help others and make it a habit.
You need some bread and milk. But half an hour later, you leave the supermarket with a trolley(手推车) full of food. What games do supermarkets play to make us spend so much money?
The tricks usually start before you walk in. Outside the supermarket entrance(入口), anybody who walks past can smell warm, fresh bread. That makes us hungry and ready to buy lots of food, not just bread.
Now you're inside and, of course, a small basket would be fine, but all they have are trolleys. And of course the problem with a trolley is that it looks sad and lonely with just one or two products inside. So we may fill it with something. In fact, supermarket trolleys are actually getting bigger so that we buy more.
Of course, many people shop in supermarkets because they think everything is cheaper than in other shops. So supermarkets offer very cheap prices on some things but then have higher prices for other products. One new trick is to put red stickers(贴纸) on products. Customers usually connect red stickers with lower prices so the red stickers are easy to be noticed, even when there is no reduction! Interestingly, this trick appears to work more with men than with women.
There is a story behind the position(位置) of everything in the supermarket. For example, customers often go only to buy milk. So they put it right at the back, making you go past hundreds of shelves full of other products. The position of products on each shelf is also important. The most expensive products are usually at eye-level so you see these at once. The exception is anything that children might like. These products are on lower shelves so that kids see them.
Apart from what you see and smell in a supermarket, what about what you listen to? In most supermarkets they have soft, slow music. It's so relaxing that you slow down and spend more time (and money) in the store. You also move more slowly when the supermarket is busy. Experts suggest it's better to shop when it's quieter, on a Monday or a Tuesday for example. And be careful with queues(排队) at the checkouts. These are sometimes deliberate(故意), to make you buy something from the checkout shelves while you wait.
So, next time you go into your local supermarket, remember these tricks and see if you can come with just the things you went for.
