When you read the sentence, the population of the earth has grown by10 people. That may not sound much, it's about 14, 000 people per hour. Most of these new people are born in (develop) countries. These countries are found in much of Africa, South America and parts of Asia.
In the developed countries of Europe and North America, the population is growing very (slow). This is women in these countries have, on average(平均), only one or two children. But in the developing countries, many women have five more children. In the developing countries, more than one billion people already live below the poverty level(贫困线). These people don't have enough food (eat) and they live in poor housing. Children get little or no time at school and suffer from many (kind) of diseases.
The UN has said that the world's population will reach over 10 (billion) by the year 2100.If the number (make) your head spin(眩晕), you're not alone. Many experts(专家) are worrying that so fast population (grow) could have very bad results. It could hurt the environment and increase the number of poor people.
China is a great country with the largest population in the world. In order to solve the population problem, our government carried out one-child policy(政策) before. When it is carried out for some time, many people see not only its advantages but also disadvantages.
From 2016, two-child policy was put into effect. In my opinion, two-child policy is good. First of all, two-child policy is the gift for some only child. For some families, maybe the parents are only child and they can also have only child. Besides the loneliness of their child, when their child grows up and they grow older, their child marries an only child girl, the burden(负担) on their child and his wife is too heavy. Their child and his wife have to take care of two couples. Usually, looking after an old couple is a little difficult for a young couple. But if their parents have two children, they can share the burden of taking care of their parents. It would be much better. Secondly, two-child policy can guarantee(保证) the number of Chinese population.
All in all, one-child policy has been out of date. And two-child policy is needed and necessary. It can solve the problems of today and the future.
