Different people sing different songs. But there is a song all of us can sing. It is our national anthem(国歌)— March of the Volunteers(《义勇军进行曲》).
On 1st September,2017, our country passed the National Anthem Law(《国歌法》). That is to say all Chinese must respect the song. It also tells how we should sing or play the song. According to the law, we can't make jokes about the song. We can't change the songs words or music.
We should also be serious in singing the song. At the flag-raising ceremony, we should stand up straight until the end of the song. In addition, don't talk with others or walk away.
The world's first "flying car" will soon appear in the market--It will be yours for just $127, 000.
The Terrafugia Transition is a light sport plane with four wheels and foldable (可折叠的) wings. It can fly up through the skies just like a usual plane, then land on the ground, fold up its two wings and drive down the road at highway speeds.
It is 19 feet long and can fly a distance of 460 miles, with a top speed of 115 mph in the air and 60 mph on the highway. According to early reports, the plane uses common gas -no rocket fuels (燃料) are necessary. It gets its power through the 100 horsepower four-stroke Rotax 912S engine.
It is about as wide as most usual cars except the folded gliders (滑翔机). The Terrafugia Transition can be put into most garages and drive on the road. A special code from a pilots license (执照) is needed to get the wings to unfold.
Interested pilots (yes, you need to be a licensed flyer or a driver with a pilot's license to buy one) can get an order of the "flying car" (or the highway plane) for $6, 500. It is planned to be finished towards the end of the year.
Science fiction is a popular kind of writing, and many people think of Jules Verne as the father of science fiction. He was born in France in 1828. His father wanted him to become a lawyer, but from his early 20s Verne decided to become a writer. At first he wrote plays for the theater. Then, in 1863, he wrote a story called Five Weeks in a Balloon. The success of this book encouraged him to write more stories such as A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) and From the Earth to the Moon (1865).
In the 19th century, many people were interested in science and inventions. Jules Verne wrote about scientific subjects in his stories and, as a result, they were very popular. Verne's writing included many predictions for the 20th century and many of them came true. He described space flight, movies, and air conditioning, a long time before they appeared. These books were very successful and they made Verne rich.
Jules Verne's books have been the subjects for many movies. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was a successful movie for Walt Disney. It was the first Disney movie to use real actors instead of cartoon drawings. Around the World in Eighty Days is another famous movie based on one of Verne's books. The main character is an Englishman called Phileas Fogg. For him, the most important thing is to be always on time!
Rob Frenette had problems with bullying(欺辱)at school for eleven years. He was often lonely and scared. When he was fifteen, however decided to do something about his problems. He walked into a newspaper office and told them about the bullying. His story went into the newspaper and soon all the TV stations in Canada wanted to talk to him about his experiences. They also wanted to hear his ideas of stopping bullying.
After that, Rob continued his studies at school, but in his free time he helped other people with bullying problems. With a friend Katie Neu he made a website called www.bull yingcanada.ca. Visitors to the website can find advice, stories and poems about bullying, in both English and French. When people are upset, they can talk on the phone or online to Rob and his team. Every weekend Rob has to answer emails on the website. He also speaks to children, teachers and members of the government around the country about bullying.
Rob's most important message is; When bullies are unkind to you, it isn't your fault here's nothing wrong with you, so you should try to keep trusting yourself. And remember that people care about your problems. You just have to find those people.
One of Rob's idea is "Blue Day", a special day for stopping bullying in schools. Students have to wear blue clothes and in class they learn how to stop bullying. More than 150 Canadian schools now celebrate Blue Day, but Rob won't stop until there's a Blue Day in every school in Canada.

Zheng He was an amazing man. He was born in 1371. Ten years later, he was caught by the army of a rich young man called Zhu Di and made to work for him. Over time the rich man saw that Zheng He was very clever and strong and they became close friends. In 1403 Zhu Di became the king of China and he asked Zheng He to join his government.
The king wanted to learn more about the world and show other countries his power. He ordered many new ships to be built and made Zheng He their leader. Between 1405 and 1433, Zheng He led some sea trips to different parts of the world. He certainly travelled to India, Africa and the Middle East. A few people think his ships have even reached South America and Australia.
Each trip lasted more than one year and it is believed he sailed more than 50,000 kilometres during the years of his travels. Zheng He led a fleet with about 28, 000 men and over 250 ships, such as boats for food, water and even soldiers horses.
On these trips he took many Chinese goods like silk and medicine with him to give to foreign kings or to sell for local goods. He returned from each trip with boats which were filled with expensive things such as gold and treasures, foreign guests and strange animals like a giraffe.
It is a pity that we may never learn everything about Zheng He's travels. The Columbus of the East, Zheng He, died in 1433. After that. The new king had these trips stopped and he burned almost all the books about Zheng He's travels, because he believed the trips were unlucky and too expensive. It is only in the last 50 years that historians have begun to carefully study the adventures of great Zheng He.
