What should I know when I am talking with English people?" asks Li Lin. "Well, don't ask a woman how old she is and ..." she says. "But how old are you?" Li Lin asks her suddenly. The woman gets angry. "Why do you get angry?" asks Li Lin. "Now we are in China, not in the UK, you see!"

"Is this seat taken (被占用的)?" asks he old man. "Yes. It's for an old lady. She gets off to buy some fruit," says the young man. "Well, I'll sit here for a few minutes. When she comes back, I'll leave." Soon, the train starts. "She doesn't come, but her bag is here. Let me give her the bag," the old man says and throws the bag out of the window. "Don't do that! It's my bag," the young man shouts and tries to stop, but it's too late.
