Showing your feeling is important. It is1mistake not to talk to anyone2you're feeling sad, worried or nervous. If you keep bad feelings inside, it can even make you3.
But if you talk with someone, like your mom or dad or your best friend, you'll usually begin to feel4than before. Now you're not all alone with your problems or worries.5it doesn't mean your problems and worries will disappear magically (神奇地). But at6, someone else understands what's7with you and can help8find ways to solve your problems.
Your mom and dad want to know if you have any9. They love you and they want to know what's happening in your life. But if you don't want to talk with them, what should you do? Find a trustworthy (可信的) friend or teacher at school or a relative. Maybe that person can help you deal with your problems. Then you'll feel as10as before.

Last Saturday, David went to the beach with his friends. We went there not to play but to do something good for the environment. They picked up rubbish on the beach. | |
My family was having a picnic on the hill when the rainstorm came on Sunday. We didn't take an umbrella, so we had to run to our car. We all got wet. But the rain stopped as soon as we arrived home. |
Dear Mom,
I don't think you understand my life. You think I should be studying all the time. I know you want me to find a good job when I grow up, but I would like to have a wonderful time, too. You never think about fun things for me to do like music, sports. Two days ago, when I was watching a football game on TV, you asked me stop and do my homework. After finishing my homework, still I can't read my football magazines (杂志). You said I had to go to bed early. That was bad enough, but yesterday was the worst day. I bought some computer games, and put them in my bag so that you wouldn't see them. I told you I had to do my homework first. I knew it was wrong to lie to you, but Mom, I didn't quite like what you did to me! I really love you, Mom, but I wish you could try not to be so hard on me.
Love,
Zhou Jun
Should we teenagers help ourparents do chores (做家务)? Is it important for us to learn how to do chores? I think so.Most of teenagers like us are the only child in each family. So our parentslove us very much. They do everything well for us and don't want us to do anychores. I think it's bad for us. The following is a real story.
I have a classmate called LiTing. She is the only child in her family like me. Her parents love her so muchthat they don't let her do any chores. Every day she only gets up, has meals, goes to school, comes home, does homework and goes to bed. So she doesn't knowhow to do chores. One day. her father was badly ill and had an operation (手术) in the hospital. Hermother had to take care of her father in the hospital and couldn't cook thedishes for Li Ting for a week. Li Ting didn't know how to cook meals. Later sheeven hadinstant noodles only for meals. From the story we know thatit's very important for us to learn to do chores and other skills besides (除…之外) studying.
In January,2020, the OVID-19 (新冠肺炎) hit Wuhan andother cities in China. There is a general fear of the unknown virus (病毒) as its full effects remain to be seen. Fever, coughing, sore throat, difficulty breathing- the COVID-19's symptoms (症状) are similarto the common cold or the flu (流感), but it'spotentially (潜在地) more dangerous. Most people who wereinfected (被感染) with the COvID-19 suffered from a feverfirst.
Don't be afraid. Here is someadvice to help you protect yourself when it comes.
Don't go to the crowded placeswith lots of people. In these places virus can be spread easily and quickly.
Wash your hands. You need to washyour hands with soap and hot water before you eat, after you use the toilet, and after you touch animals, because your hands may carry viruses.
Cover your nose and mouth. Whensomeone sneezes (打喷嚏) or coughs, viruses can travel as far as one meter through the air,so you'd better keep a proper distance (距离) whiletalking to someone. And always cover your mouth and nose with a piece of paperwhen you sneeze or cough, and then clean your hands.
Wear a mask (口罩). Some doctors saythat masks can stop the flu as much as 80%, but if you don't wash your handsoften, it's no use wearing a mask. And it's necessary to wear the mask in the groupsof people.
Do sports often. Exercises willhelp make your body strong enough to resist (抵抗) the virus.

A: I see. Maybe it is caused by them.
B:
A: Do you often just have snacks for breakfast?
B: Yes, very often.
A: Oh! Snacks are bad for health.
B: I know that. But I really enjoy them.
A. You look unhappy. B. You don't look well. C. I ate nothing but some snacks. D. That's not a good habit. E. And my parents often tell me not to eat them. F. I guess so. G. I drank water with honey. |
Life can be hard, so it's quite normal to feel hopeless from time to time. However, if you want to give up at the moment in your life, then may be you need (read) the story of Nick Vujicic.
Nick is a man who has no (arm) or legs. Although his body is not complete(完整的), he never (give) up. He tried everything 69. (possible) and made them possibly at last. He made a (n) (decide) to learn to swim. At first, people around him all thought he couldn't make it. However, he swam better better after practicing hard. Now, he can also paint and even drive very well.
In my opinion, his story teaches me that no matter difficult problems are, I should try (me) best to solve them. I also learn that if I want to be successful, I have to change my thought first. As Nick says " you may not be able to see a path (成功的途径) right now, but that doesn't mean it's not there." When I'm trouble, what I need to do is just keep on (go) and never lose hope.
