These days, cars are designed using computers. Let's look at how a new car is created.
First, several 1 talk about the new car and some good ideas that they have. Then they sit down at their computers and 2 many sketches. The best two or three drawings are chosen and then more detailed drawings of 3 are developed on the computer. You can change the size, shape or colour of any part on the computer to see4 the car would look and then you can choose the best design.
Both the inside and the outside of the car have to be designed. Part of the inside of the car is5 so that the designers can sit in it. They can feel if there is enough6 inside and if they can reach7. Then some cars are built—there are more than 15, 000 parts of a car to 8.
When everything is known to be 9, the cars are made in the factory. Again, computers are used to make sure that all the parts are 10 as they are needed. The factory usually stays open all through the night so that the car production never stops.

Not all inventions are made by scientists. Kids can also make history with their inventions.
The state flagof Alaska was designed by 13-year-old Bennie Benson in 1926. His design was chosen from a flag-designing competition. It became the official flag in 1959. Bennie won a $1,000 scholarship(奖学金)and a watch.
Frank Epperson invented the Popsicle in 1905 when he was only 11 years old. It was called the Epsicle at that time. Frank left his drink outside the door over night with a stick(木棒)in it. That night the temperature dropped and everything was frozen including Frank's drink. That didn't stop him from tasting it, so today we have Popsicles to eat.
In 1642 Blaise Pascal designed the first counting machine when he was 18. The machine was forhis father, a tax collector, to make his job easier. Blaise named it “the Pasealine”. He made about 50 of them, but nobodywas interested in it. People thought it would take jobs away from them. 300 years went by, and the calculator(计算器)finally became a success. In 1968, the programming language(程序设计语言), PASCAL, was named after him.

I'm John Wood, a doctor at a famous Boston hospital. During the first two years of high school, I found biology very . My report cards always said things like “must study harder” or “John shouldn't choose science .” It was really terrible for who had always dreamed of becoming a doctor. I lost confidence, so I left high school at sixteen and working at a supermarket.
One evening I saw a documentary about Albert Einstein. According to the documentary, Einstein had done really at school. I began to think that if Einstein could , then I may have a chance, too. I didn't want to leave my job, I decided to go to night school to finish high school. Two years later, I went to a university.
I've often thought I should contact the from the Einstein documentary and him. As for the biology teacher, I might contact her, too, one day—but not to thank her!
