Have you ever been cycling (骑自行车运动) ? This spring my elder brother and I(spend) a long weekend cycling in the countryside. We rode(slow) along because we didn't come to break any speed records, or to do sports. We just wanted(get) some fresh air and a break from schoolwork. We really had a great time (ride) along country roads. And there was one of the best things about our trip that made us happy: every few(kilometre) there was a village where we could find everything we needed.
All the local people were really friendly. However, the second day, something happened. We were going down the hill when my brakes (刹车) started makingnoise, but I didn't mind at all. At midnight we were woken by the noise in the hotel. We were tiredwe set off the next morning, but soon felt cheerful when the sun came out.
What we enjoyed(our) most about cycling is—it's simple and interesting. I think nothing is(good) than cycling if you're looking for a break that is active and cheap.
Why not have a try?
At thebeginning of this term, my PE teacher suggested to me that I should take partin the marathon (马拉松赛跑). I was very surprised because I was never a good runner. In orderto1me, he said that if I took part in therace, I would get the highest mark for the term's PE class. Therefore, Idecided to have a try because I had2to lose.
I preparedfor the race very3. I ran every day in the morning beforeschool. And after school, I practised running with many other runners on thesports ground. I even had the special diet (饮食) for athletes (运动员). I heard that thespecial diet could4me to get good results.
When the5ofthe marathon arrived, I was very nervous. As usual, I got up in the morning, had my breakfast, and listened to some music. Then my father gave me a6tothe sports ground. All my family wished me good luck because they knew how7thisrace was for me and how much effort I had put into its preparation.
Mycompetitors looked like athletes. I was8that I would be the last. However, when I started to run, I thought only about the race. As I paid muchattention to the race itself, I did not remember when I9theother runners. Suddenly I realized that I had come first. I was very happy whenI won the race. From the experience, I learn that10alwayscomes out of hard work.
