Today is Sunday. Mike and Peter1go to school. Listen! They are talking about the life2in the room. "3 will the world be like?" Peter asks. "I think that the world will be a4place to live in. And we will 5machines and robots at home. They will help us do many6," says Mike.
"The robots will help7cook dinner, clean the houses and8old people. I think there will be a kind of medicine (药)9it can make us live more than 100 years," Peter says.
"What will you do then?" says Mike. "Then I will10my great grandchildren (曾孙) to the moon," says Peter. "The moon? I will go to the Mars (火星) with my wife," says Mike.
The future is coming! All over the world there are many new ideas for new places to live and work in and some of them will be in the sea! They will be very big and lots of people will live and work in them. The Americans are planning to build a town called Atlantis City. It will be in the sea, about five miles away from the land. But the most exciting idea comes from Japan. It is called Aeropolis. Aeropolis will be a huge sea city with parks, schools, a hospital and an airport…and it will move! It will travel slowly around the world. There are just two problems. Aeropolis will cost (花费) a lot of money to make. And for people who get seasick, it won't be much fun.
Scientists say life will be very different in 2050.
First, there will be no TV channels (频道) in 2050. People will choose a program (节目) from a computer and watch it on TV. In 2050, we will get information from the computers only.
Second, water will be a big problem in 2050. In many places, people won't have water to drink.
Third, cars will use new and clean fuels (燃料) and they will go very fast. There will be a computer in every car. And the computers will control the cars and there won't be any accidents (事故).
