May 21, 2020 marks the first International Tea Day (ITD). It (name) by the UN on Nov 21, 2019. ITD is more than about (celebrate) the delicious drink. It also (try) to improve the working conditions of the farmers and workers. It makes the public know the (important) of tea all over the world.
Tea is the world's second (popular) drink (after water). Drinking tea can bring many (health) benefits (益处). Now tea is loved by millions from China to England, from India to Afghanistan—each culture with its own tradition.
Tea was discovered in 2727 BC in China. When the ruler Shen Nong (boil) water over an open fire, some (leaf) from a tea plant fell into the water. Shen Nong then fell in love with the drink that followed, and that is how tea became a common drink in Chinese culture. Dinking tea is a centuries-old tradition in the UK. There's tea for breakfast, tea during break time, tea when visiting a (friend) house, tea to wake up, tea (relax)… you get the idea. For Indians, tea is also a huge part of daily life.
Help yourself to some tea when you are free. Maybe, you will fall in love with it, too.
A doctor in the family!
After studying for a long time, my brother has now graduated and we are very(luck) to have a doctor in the family! My mom and dad, my sister and I are all interested in arts and languages. No one in the family has ever studied medicine before- it's so difficult and takes such a long time (study). So we're all very proud of him. As well as this, we have a doctor of our own to ask any medical problems we have! How good is that?
I think Micky will make excellent doctor. He's patient and understanding, and he (care) a lot about people. He (help) at car accidents and done some small operations. I admire him very much.
I can't stand the sight of blood, so I could never do what he does!
Micky says he wants to work in hospitals where he can help people with different (ill). Though he knows doctors in hospitals work very long hours, he doesn't mind. In (I) opinion, it's wonderful if you can have a job that you (real) enjoy and Micky has found one. I just hope he isn't busy that the rest of us have to make an appointment (预约)) to say hello.
About 20 million children in America attend summer camp every year, according to America Association (ACA). They look forward to(spend) time there with friends.
But with social-distancing（社交距离) rules in United States, many summer camps face difficult decisions. Can they (safe) welcome campers this year? Do they need to close for the season? Or should change how they carry out their programs?
"Most camps are asking not only when they're going to open, also how they're going to open," says Tom Rosenberg, president of the ACA. He says that many camps (wait) on instructions from the government now.
"The state's summer camps could open June," Beth Bye, the leader of the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, said a week ago. "But there need to be (strict) health rules than ever. Most programs will not (allow) to have more than 30 kids. "
Bye added that camps are important for both kids and (parent). "For many families," she told the New York Times, "summer camp is their childcare."
When teacher Margret Atkins, 39, went to ride her bike to school last Friday, she was shocked to discover it (steal). When our reporter spoke to her, she told him that she'd been angry when she realized he bike was gone. It was quite old bike her grandpa had given her years ago. She said it was (valuable) gift she'd ever received.
So what did she do? She decided (write) a note to the thief and put it where the bike had been taken away. To her surprise, she (find) the thief had returned the bike, together with a written apology(道歉) later that day. "What I did was (complete) wrong. 1'm really sorry I took your bike. Hope you can accept (I) apology!"
Mrs. Atkins told reporters she was not going to call the police she was no longer angry. She was just thankful that she could go to school on her bike again. She added that she'd probably write another passage to the thief. "I want to thank him returning the bike and tell him I've forgiven(原谅) him," she explained. "People sometimes make (mistake), but the important thing is that they own up to(承认) what they've done," she said.
An old man went to India. When he got there, he saw some fruit for sale, but most of it was very cheap. The (cheap) thing has a basket of red fruit.
"How much per kilo?" the old man (ask).
"Two rupees (卢比)," the shopkeeper answered. Two rupees in India is almost nothing, the old man bought a whole kilogram and started eating it.
However, as soon as he started eating, his mouth began (burn), his eyes began to water, and his whole face became as red the fruit. As he coughed and struggled to breathe, he jumped up and , screaming: "Ah! Ah! Ah!"
And yet he continued to eat the fruit. Some people who were looking at him shook their (head) and said, "You are crazy! Those are chili peppers (辣椒)!You can't just eat them by the handful!"
The old man said to (he),"I paid for them, so I must eat them."
This old man seemed pretty stupid. But are we so much smarter? All of us have (spend) money and time on something-maybe a relationship, or a business, or a job-and sometimes, even if we know there's no hope that things will change, we still continue with it.
What we can learn the old man is this: if you've lost a lot over something that doesn't work, let it go and move on. It's better than continuing to lose.
Twenty years ago, I drove a taxi for my life and sometimes I had to work at night.
One late night, I got a telephone call a neighborhood. When I arrived there at 2: 30 am, the only building was dark except a single light in the (five) floor window. So I walked up and knocked at the door.
Just a minute, "answered a weak voice. After a long time, the door opened and a small woman(stand) in front of me. Next to her was a small box.
Quickly I took her box to the car and then returned to hold her. She kept(thank)me.
When we got in the car, she asked, "Can you drive me through the blocks?
" it's too late now, "I replied.
"I don't mind," she said slowly. "I'm in no hurry. The doctor says I don't have much time to live…"
I (quiet) turned off the meter(计费器), For the next two hours, we drove through the city and passed the building where she had once worked, the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived ,and some other places. Assun was rising, we stopped in front of a low building. Two young(woman) were waiting there. They were both the nurses who would look after her.
"How much do I have to pay?" she asked.
"Nothing, "I replied. I was sure I would never forget this(pain)experience.
She looked surprised, "You gave a woman who is dying a little moment of pleasure, "she said.
"Thank you".
Sometimes people may not remember exactly what you did or said. However, they'll always remember how you make (they) feel. And they'll never forget it.
We can't remember clearly when we started to take our mobiles to the dinner table. This often, (especial) when we eat out. Once a dish comes, of lifting our chopsticks, we take out our mobiles and click. Later, we post the photos onto Weibo or WeChat, waiting to be "liked". Then we check our mobiles from time to time during the meal to see whether we get "liked" not. We just cannot leave our mobiles for only a meal.

A recent study suggests that what we are used to (do) is not so good. Spending taking photos of food makes the food less pleasant. To test this, some researchers did an experiment. Some people were (ask) to take photos before they could enjoy food. As a , it showed that the (many) photos they took, the less delicious the food to them. Why not stop taking photos and just enjoy the food in front of you？
So, next time you go out to have dinner with your family or friends. How about not (take) photos of food? Let the food be delicious as it is and share your life with people you. Trust me, and it will be a wonderful time.
Tani, 8 years old, ran away from Nigeria with his family two years ago. they got to the United States, a churchman (warm) helped place them in a homeless shelter (收容所) in New York. Tani's dad worked as a driver. And his mom studied hard (become) a nurse. Tani started going to Primary School 116. There, learned to play the game that would change his life: chess.
On March 10th, Tani (win)a state champion (冠军) for little kids. He beat 73 other players. Some had practiced with private chess teachers, but Tani had practiced on floor of the homeless shelter alone.
A reporter wrote an article about Tani. In three weeks, thousands people gave away over $250, 000 to Tani and his family on GoFundMe. Some also left (message). "Tani! You are a superstar!" one person wrote.

It was our school's yearly dancing show. I (be) excited that 1 was chosen by the teacher this time although I didn't have any experience of dancing for a show. I would dance in front of all the students and (teacher). It made me very proud.
However, I was a bit sad my father had no time to watch me dance. He (invite) to have a business meeting. I knew that my father would surely come to my show if he could. (lucky), my mother and my elder sister were still coming to watch my show.
the beginning of the day, I was very nervous. After changing into the dress and getting my makeup done, I felt (relax). Then I went on to the stage bravely. I was very glad to see my mother and sister sitting in second row.
Just before the lights turned dark, I saw my father rush into the hall and take the seat beside my mother. a pleasant surprise it was! The sight of my father made (I) smile. I began dancing confidently. Soon after the show, my family came backstage to congratulate me. I was so happy and lucky to have my family's support.
Ray was thought to be a strange boy. One day when he was flying his kite, he said to himself, "Did anybody ever try to fly a kite at night? I think it must be very fun. But the kite can't be seen in the dark, what if I tie a light to it? That would be really good. I (try) it tonight."
As soon as it was dark, he (take) his kite and lantern, and went to a large field about a mile from his home. He tied the lantern to the tail of his kite. The lantern (make) of paper. The kite flew higher and higher. He tied the string( 线) to a tree, then he stood there, staring at his kite. It floated( 飘 ) high up into the air. How wonderful! While Ray (enjoy) his special kite, some people in the village also saw it.
"Look! A light (fly) in the sky," one person said. "It can't be a light," said a man.
"Perhaps it's a big firefly(萤火虫) ," said another.
"Maybe it's a comet(彗星),"said another man. "How strange!" said a boy.
"Let's find out what this strange light (be)." the last one said. Then they went to the field.
While this was taking place, Ray, who had gotten tired of standing, was sitting behind a tree. He (see) the men as they came, but they didn't see him. When they reached under the light, and saw what it was, they looked at each other and said while laughing, "There is nothing unusual (happen)! This is just a trick of some naughty boys', but it (fool) us all, let us keep the secret." Then they laughed again and went back to the village.
When the men had gone, Ray thought it was time for him (go), so he went home, too. When his mother heard what he had done, she hardly knew whether to laugh or scold(责备), but just told him to go to bed.
