It's Sunday afternoon. It's my son's eighth birthday today. I go into a 1 shop to buy a big birthday cake for him.
There2 a lot of people in the shop. When I am 3 a cake, I find a little boy watching the cakes for a long time. He is 4 old clothes. At last he chooses a cake. Then he gives money to the girl shopkeeper and says to 5, "I want the 6 cake."
"Sorry, the cake is 15 yuan, but you only have 7 yuan," says the shopkeeper.
"I…I have no more money, "says the little boy and he begins to 8.
"Oh, my boy. Who would you like to 9 the birthday cake for?" I ask.
"My 10, madam."
"11doesn't she come and buy one?"
"My father left us three years ago, "the boy says." We don't have much 12. My mother has to 13 from morning to night every day. She celebrates my birthday every year, but she 14 celebrates hers. It's her birthday tomorrow. I want to buy a small cake for her. But I don't have enough money..."
"Oh, my boy! I'm your 15 friend and I work with her," I say. "I will buy her a nice birthday cake." I give the money to the shopkeeper and leave the shop.
In England, people don't usually talk too much. You can go on a bus, or in a train, and everyone sits looking out of the windows. Often they read. They read books and newspapers. But they don't talk much. When you meet English people, they often talk about one thing the weather. So when you meet someone in England, you say, "Nice weather for the time of year!"
"But it was very cold yesterday, "someone may say.
"But there will be heavy rain!" You can say. Talk like this and the English people will think, "How friendly you are!" But it's not good to ask their age, or they will not be happy.
Hello, everyone! I'm Mike. I live in Beijing with my parents. I'm in Class Two, Grade Seven at Beijing International School. I'm looking forward to the busy weekend. All the students in our class are going to Tian'anmen Square to watch the flagraising ceremony(升旗仪式) on Saturday morning.
We're going to gather(集合) at five o'clock at the school gate. It takes us about twenty minutes to get there by subway. After watching the ceremony, we are going to visit the Railway Museum. I hope the weather will be fine! In the afternoon we are going to have a basketball match in the gym. In the evening we're going to see a movie. I don't think we're going home early on Saturday evening.
On Sunday morning I'm going to Beihai Park with my friends. We're going to take a walk in the park and collect litter there. It must be very interesting.
Walt Disney was born in 1901. The Mickey Mouse created in 1927 made him very famous. He died in 1966.but his work and his dreams did not die. Now people all over the world enjoy his Mickey Mouse and other cartoons.
Wait Disney was a man who did not give up easily. One summer, Walt wanted a job in a post office, but they told him that he was too young. He went home, drew some lines on his face, and put on his father's suit and hat. Then he went back to the same office and told them he was 18. He got the job finally.
Later in his lire, Disney had a dream, that is, to build a new kind of amusement park. It would be clean and beautiful. There would be rides for children and nice hotels for adults. It would be fun for people of all ages. Disney drew a plan for this park. It was called Disneyland. Engineers told him it was an impossible dream His family and friends thought he was mad, but Disney did not give up his idea. In 1955, Disneyland opened to the public and it became the most successful amusement park in the USA. Walt Disney's dream came true.
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs. They left their parents to see the world. All summer long, they played games and made friends. No one was happier than the three little pigs. Soon autumn came and it began to rain. The three pigs started to think they needed a house. They talked about what to do, but they had different ideas. The laziest little pig said he would built a straw hut(茅草屋). "It will only take a day, "he said. The second little pig built a wooden(木头的)house. It took him two days. But the third little pig built a house with stones. It took him over a week.
One day, a wolf came. He broke the straw hut easily, and the laziest pig ran to his brother's wooden house. The wolf followed him and broke the door of the wooden house. They had to run to their brother's stone house .The wolf was so angry that he couldn't break the stone house. He left at last. Then the three happy little pigs, dancing in front of the house, began to sing. After that, they all worked hard and built strong houses.
