Alison Lapper. A very unusual painter, paints pictures for a living.
She doesn't use her (手) when she paints. She uses her mouth! Alison was born (没有) any arms. Her physical problem caused her to spend the first (十七) years of her life in a hospital. But this didn't stop her from making her dreams in life come true. She realized that even though she Was disabled, she could (表达) herself as freely as normal people, This was what got her to start drawing paintings.
Although Alison lives (相当) a different life from others, she never loses her heart. She (相信) that she can succeed as others. With great effort, her painting skills have reached a high (水平) and
her paintings do not look like they were drawn by(某人) who used her mouth. Alison has become a symbol of (勇气). Many disabled people have been cheered up by her (积极的) way of living and become more confident.

Jeff Keith has only one leg. When he was 12 years old, Jeff had cancer. Doctors had to cut off most of his right leg.
Every day Jeff puts on an artificial leg. With the plastic artificial leg, Jeff can ride a bicycle, swim, and play soccer. He can also run.
Jeff made a plan with his friends who had plastic legs, too. They decided to run across America.
When he was 22 years old, Jeff Keith ran across the United States from the east to the west. He started running in Boston. Seven months later, he stopped running in Los Angeles. He ran 3, 200 miles. Jeff stopped in cities on the way to Los Angeles. In every city people gave Jeff money. The money was not for Jeff, but for the American Cancer Society.
Jeff is disabled, but he can do many things. He is studying to be a lawyer. Jeff says, “People can do anything they want to do. I want people to know that I ran not only for disabled people, I ran for everybody. ”
