On 10 January, I was luckily invited to attend a (wed) ceremony. It was anything ordinary. The wedding ceremony took place in a (bright) decorated hotel room. There were hundreds of guests (dress) up in formal, colorful clothes. According to tradition, the bride was wearing eyecatching red silk sari. A few customs made a deep (impress) on me. One was the bridegroom's entrance on a beautiful white horse. Another was that the bride's father proudly led his daughter through the rows of (seat) to her new husband, reminded me of my sister's wedding in China. The new couple joined hands and (walk) around a small fire four times, then they took seven steps together by the fire and with each step made a different promise about how (support) each other and live together happily. How romantic it was!
Betty was born in Tibet, on August 27, 2000. She (attend) the government school near her home until she was eighteen. When she left school, she first went to Britain, from where she (go) to India soon to be trained as a teacher, and after training, she (fly) to Calcutta to teach geography at a school. However, she (train) to become a nurse in Calcutta, and then began her work helping the poor and comforting the dying in the streets of the city. Now, many people slowly come to help her. Recently her work (spread) to other parts in the world. Many photos (take) of her,as she travels around the world to open new schools and hospitals in poor countries. I think she (give) the Nobel Prize in the future for her love and service that she (give) to the poor.
