Cave Exploring

Come explore undeveloped caves without the use of built-in electricity, walkways, or stairs. Prepare to get muddy! On this trip, cavers will climb slowly through tight cave entrances that open into large caves, some of which have been forming for thousands of years.
Do remember that there are delicate ecosystems you should protect well.

Utah Spring Break Road Trip

Explore the southwest on this Utah Road Trip with Peak Adventures! See huge rock arches, sweeping desert views, and glowing sunsets reflecting off orange Utah sandstone. Daily activities will include camping, hiking, and sightseeing. Opportunities for higher adventure activities as determined by the group.

Tahoe Day Hike
DECEMBER 10, 7 AM-6 PM
Experience the fresh air and grand Lake Tahoe views while hiking in D. L. Bliss State Park. Destinations may include Balancing Rock, Rubicon Point, and the highest lighthouse in the United States. If weather and snow pack permit, we may have the opportunity to try snowshoeing! Be sure to pack your camera!

Full Moon Hike
FEBRUARY 6, 4 PM- 11 PM
Come hike under the full moon! Experience nature in different views, first by the colorful sunset, then by the light of the full moon! This beginner adventure is a great way to make new friends.

Most of the 20th century has been a development on the Industrial Revolution taken to an extreme (极端): people now own more products than ever before; there are enough nuclear weapons to destroy the earth several times over; there is hardly any forest left and pollution has got to the point where we buy water. Within a few years I predict you will be able to buy air一there once was a time when you didn't need to buy food or shelter either.
Important developments in the last century are the breaking down of the class structures left over from the Industrial Revolution stage , bringing with it the empowerment(授权)of the "common man" :the working day is set by law to only 8 hours a day ; everyone has the vote; the media has less obvious government control ;people have landed on the moon , sent spacecraft to Mars and so on. Families have also been shrinking ; the nuclear family came about, and especially in the last half of the 20th century , one-parent families are becoming more common. The smaller size of the family shows the increased independence of people一once upon a time people had to live in large groups to survive.
Humans have realized their personality and independence and taken their control of the world to an extreme. In many countries the land is almost completely used in the production of food and as living space. People live in small cities which are entirely human constructed, made from materials which are also entirely human constructed (concrete bricks) with hardly any remains of nature. Weeds are poisoned because they are messy; even parks have trees grown in tidy lines; grass is mowed to keep it short and so on. I think the massive drug "problem" troubling people is a result of too much of this influence, humans needing to escape the dull world they have created by entering fantasy worlds.
Over the last 100 years, the 20th century consciousness has spread throughout the world. Most of Asia has been thoroughly "Westernized", and most of the Third World is being over-run by Western ways of doing things and living.
You are in a department store and you see a couple of attractive young women looking at the sweater. You listen to the conversation.

So you buy it. You never realize that those young women are employees of an advertising agency. They are actually paid to go from store to store talking loudly about Lorenzo Bertolla clothes.
Every day we notice what people are wearing, driving and eating. If the person looks cool, the product seems cool, too. This is the secret of undercover(暗中影响的) marketing. Undercover marketing is important because it reaches people that don't pay attention to traditional advertising. This is particularly true of the MTV generation consumers between the age of 18 and 34. It is a golden group. They have a lot of money to spend, but they don't trust ads.
So advertising agencies hire young actors "perform" in bars and other places where young adults go. Some people might call this practice deceptive, but marketing executive Jonathan Ressler calls it creative.
"Look at the traditional advertising. Its effectiveness is decreasing." However, one might ask what "real" is exactly about if young women pretend to be enthusiastic about a sweater? Advertising executives would say it's no less real than an ad. The difference is that you know an ad is trying to persuade you to buy something. While you don't know when a conversation you overhear is just a performance.

In 2020 alone, the sales income of the domestic e-sports industry reached 278. 69 billion yuan, and involved 280，000 enterprises, which in turn created over 10 million jobs. According to a media report, nearly 95 percent of graduates from e-sports majors at the Communication University of China in Nanjing, succeeded in finding a job after graduation this year , with 62 percent of them devoted to the e-sports industry, including video game clubs , game design companies and game competition operation companies.
The inclusion of e-sports in major sporting events has been a much-discussed topic in recent years. With more Chinese gaming clubs and teams appearing , the industry is expected to further prosper (繁荣) and continue spreading Chinese culture to the world.

Late on Test Day
If you are late for arriving at your test site, you may still take the admissions test if the Test Administrator is still giving instructions to students in your testing room. If actual testing has started, you may not take the admissions test just the same day. In this case, you will either miss the test or have to take another one again. The supervisor at your test site will provide you with instructions on how to request a makeup test. .
Scratch Paper for the Test
You will receive one piece of scratch paper to use for the test, which must be returned with your testing booklet. You must use the paper provided for you. .You must, however, mark all of your answers on your answer sheet for the answers to be recorded and scored.
Erasable Pens
Please do not use erasable pens on your essays. Erasable ink can smudge the writing and make your essays unreadable. That is why we ask that you use pens rather than pencils on your essays. If you want to "erase" some of your essays，draw a few lines through the text you wish to erase. This will not count against you when the essays are scored.
You may not use highlighters, colored pens or pencils, sticky notes, or correction tape or fluid when you take the admissions test. Do not bring any of these items to the test site.
Food and Drink
You may not eat or chew gum during testing. .You may not keep a bottle of water on your desk. If you need a drink of water during testing, you must leave the testing room. You will not get any additional testing time.

Last Sunday my friend David and I paid a unusual visit to a modern local farm. During the stay, we are first shown around the place by its owner. There we found rows of greenhouse and varieties of vegetables growing well. Then the farm owner explained to us that how much technology had already used for the water-saving irrigation system to increase the output of crops. Finally, we were allowed to picking some tomatoes with the workers. Through this unforgettably activity, I have realized how a key role technology plays in modern agriculture.
