My best friend, Connie, is two years older than me. We spend a lot of time together.
Connie has long dark brown hair and her eyes are big and round. People say she is1and looks like a doll. When we go out, people often2that I am older than her because she is shorter and slimmer(更苗条的).
Connie is positive(乐观的)even when things go3. Last week she got her examination4, which were not very good. I thought she was going to be5.Instead, she simply decided to do better the next time. Then, every day after class,6teachers are free in their offices, she will ask them for help.
Connie gets on well with others. Everyone in my family7her, even my younger brother. When you hear her laugh, you will naturally(自然地)laugh8. When I feel unhappy, I will talk to Connie and she will make me feel9.
I think my10with Connie is very valuable, and I hope we will always be best friends.
Dear Dr. Know,
My brother is going to be 1l and I am 14. My brother and I always get into fights. Whenever he does something wrong like hitting me, messing my room or taking my toys, he never gets in trouble. But when I do this kind of thing, I'm always grounded and it's not fair.
I tried talking to my parents about this and all they said was that they would try harder. However, it has never happened. I don't know what to do. I sometimes just try to get on the computer. My brother starts saying that he wants to use the computer even though we have three computers in the house. But all that my dad says is to get off only for 30 minutes. I keep telling him that he can use the computer downstairs but he complains(抱怨)that he is too scared.
I've talked to my friends about this and they don't know what to say. I've tried talking to him and being nice to him but it doesn't work. He just doesn't stop. He's making my life terrible! My dream is to have an understanding brother. What should I do for that?
Help me, please!
Kelsey

Sometimes people come into your life and you know that they are sure to be there at once. They may come for some reasons, such as teaching you a lesson or helping to find out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people are. Maybe your classmates, neighbors, teachers, long-lost friends or even real strangers. But you know that they affect(影响)your life in some serious ways.
Sometimes things happen to you. Maybe they seemed terrible, painful(痛苦的)and unfair at that time. But later after getting over those difficulties, you may realize your further ability. Everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance or with good or bad luck.
The people you meet may affect or change your life, your success, your failure and create who you are. You can even learn something important from the bad experiences. In fact, they are possibly the most poignant and important ones.
Enjoy every day. You may never be able to experience every moment again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and really listen. You should set your sights high, try to learn more, hold your head up, tell yourself you are a great one and believe in yourself.
You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life, go out and enjoy it.
