Once upon a time there was a poor woodcutter who worked very hard every day. He had a son and his name was Herman. The old man saved some money and sent his son to university.
But the money that the father gave his son ran out after two years and Herman had to come back home. The old man had no more money. Herman said he would stay and work with his father.
The next day Herman went to the forest with his father. Though he had never done such work before, he worked well. Herman took his bread and said he would go a little farther into the forest.
Herman was so happy with the bright sunshine that he walked and walked. Suddenly he heard a voice, "Let me out! Let me out!"There was something in the bottle that looked like a small budworm（青虫）. It jumped up and down shouting, "Let me out!"
As soon as Herman opened the bottle, it jumped out of the bottle and began to grow. "Thank you, young man," he said. "Now it's my turn to help you. "
The giant gave Herman a piece of cloth（布）. "It is unusual," said the giant. "Put it on a stone, and it will turn the stone into gold. "

The Dragon Boat Festival（端午节）is the day to remember a Chinese national hero, ①Qu Yuan, who threw himself into the river and died over 2, 000 years ago. Old story has it that people, ②________________（为了救屈原）, beat drums to drive fish away, and threw rice dumplings (zongzi) into the river to keep the fish from eating his body.
For thousands of years, people have spent the festival by eating zongzi and holding dragon boat races ③on the fifth day of the fifth lunar（阴历的）month, ④especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes.
The dragon boat races ⑤/ʃəu/ that many people want to save Qu's body. Those races are the most exciting part of the festival, with very large crowds of people watching them. The special boats, more than 10 meters long, have colorful "dragon" heads and tails(尾巴), and ⑥/i:ʧ/ boat carries team of 20 or 22 players. Every year dragon boat races take place in southeast Asian countries and some western countries, including America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The Dragon Boat Festival falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, so we can also call it "The Double Festival"
Dragon boat races are mostly held in South China because there are more areas there.

Hou Yi closed his eyes for some seconds because of the strong. He put an arrow (箭) against the bowstring (弓弦) and drew it to the. Then he let go his arrow. One of the ten suns was killed anddown.
The earth was still burning. Because there were still nine suns in the sky. Hou Yi went onthe suns. When the ninth sun fell from the sky，someone told Hou Yi that the world needed a sun to keepand bright. So Hou Yi left only one sun in the sky. Since then，the only sunin the morning on his journey across the sky every day.
Once there was a rabbit (兔子)called Bonnie．When she was young，her mother told her that all the carnivorous(食、肉的)animals are dangerous，they had no teeth．But Bonnie was never afraid of anything．One day, she playedhappily.she got lost．Then she noticed a little fox (狐狸)hiding behind a tree． .the fox saw Bonnie，he ran away quickly．Bonnie felt strange，so she ran after the fox，but the fox ranfastBonnie couldn't catch him up．Bonnie shouted．“Who are you?
