A captain of a boat lost his way in the middle of a storm. While trying to control the boat, he started feeling frustrated. The storm grew bigger. The waves became larger. It seems difficult for the captain to handle the tough situation, but he did not give up and tried harder every time the waves hit the boat.
In his attempts to stay strong and keep the boat steady (稳), he was unable to hear one of his crew officers yelling (呼喊)at him. "Captain, Captain!" the officer kept yelling while holding on to one of the deck's bars to avoid falling off the boat. "Captain, Captain!" insisted the officer.
After several attempts, the officer finally was able to reach his fighting and the tired captain who had started to yell out thoughts to the crazy waves. "If I am a good hard-working man, why does this happen to me? I have been sailing the open ocean for years to fish the best catch and get support for my family! Why, why, why?" He was beyond anger.
At that moment that officer was able to grab the captain's shoulder and make him turn so that the captain could hear him. "Captain, Captain!" yelled again the officer. Failing in free himself from the officer's grab, the captain angrily shouted at him for distracting (使分神) him from his difficult task. "What do you need, officer? Don't you see I am trying to control the boat and find our way back?" shouted the captain.
The officer kept holding onto the captain and pointed to the opposite direction, towards the stern (船尾). "Captain!" he shouted. "The lighthouse is right over there, on the other side. We are going in the wrong direction!"
China's second female astronaut to enter space delivered a lecture to more than 60 million students across the country on Thursday, while aboard the Tiangong-1 space module (舱) 340 kilometers above the Earth's surface, in the first attempt at this kind of lecture by a Chinese astronaut.
Wang Yaping, one of the three crew members in the Shenzhou-X class spacecraft, delivered the lecture through a 40-minute live video broadcast, nine days after the successful spacecraft launch. Assisted by the other two astronauts Nie Haisheng and Zhang Xiaoguang, Wang showed students how movement occurs in a zero-gravity environment through a series of physics experiments to help students understand basic physics concepts. Observers say the creative lecture is not only good for science and patriotic W1 education of the younger generation but also shows national confidence in China's maturing (成熟)W2 space technologies.
Via the video feed system, the three astronauts interacted with some 300 curious students in Beijing on Thursday after the lecture, who raised questions about their daily life in the space module.
"I'm extremely excited to see the magical effects of the experiments. I feel like I'm close to space while watching the live broadcast, "a primary school student in Beijing told the Global Times after the lecture. The lecture became one of the most popular topics on Weibo Thursday, with some Web users saying this visually W3 impressive method of education has made them interested in space science.
The lecture also drew international attention. After the lecture, Wang replied to a letter of greeting from Barbara Morgan, a female US astronaut who participated in a space teaching program in 2007 "We would like to join the effort, as you have done, to bring science-loving youth around the world closer to their dreams of exploring the universe, "Wang said in the reply, Xinhua reported.
Cultural differences do exist, and we can really use them to tighten our relationship as human beings. Because there is strength in diversity. So, we going to expose some interesting cultural differences around the world in this article. Read some interesting cultures around the world to help you travel out of your homeland!
In Greece spitting (吐痰) at weddings is believed to drive away devil (恶魔). Funny as it sounds, this cultural tradition is an important practice. To make it even more shocking, this spitting is focused on the bride. It is seen as good luck to bless the couple. However, Things have been changed in some parts of Greece these days. Wedding guests just face the bride and make sounds and impressions that show they are spitting on her—without actually spitting.
Everybody knows the Thai people are so friendly, but their culture demands that you never point your feet at anyone of any statue, especially that of the Buddha. In addition, they also consider the head to be more important than other parts of the body. This is why it is disrespectful to touch another person's head in Thailand. Statues are not left out. If you see the Buddha statue, avoid touching its head as well.
Russians are very hospitable (好客的) people. In their culture food is serious business. Lunch is the most important and heaviest meal. If you get invited by your Russian friend for a meal, don't ever refuse it-they find it impolite. You might want to skip your own meals to leave space in your stomach for the food you will eat in Russian gatherings. This is very interesting cultural difference between Russian people and other nations.
Since there is limited knowledge about cultures outside your own, you won't be able to really flow with a foreigner. Now, you know some about the cultural differences around the world, so we hope it will make your life easier.
Happiness is a great goal to have, and it's something you'll need to work towards every day. Being happy isn't something you achieve and then hold onto.
Express gratitude for the good things in your life.
Being grateful for the things you have can change your life. It helps you focus on what's going well so you're less likely to feel depressed about your life. Thank people when they do nice things for you. Your gratitude list might include, "my cat, ""a job I love, ""a best friend I can cal anytime, ""a cozy bed, "and" good food to eat. " When you're feeling down, look back over your gratitude list to help you feel better.
Replace negative thoughts with positive self-talk.
Negative (消极)thoughts can make it hard to feel happy, but you can change them. When you notice negative thoughts, replace them with a positive or neutral (中立) thought. Let's say you catch yourself thinking, "I'm so ugly. "You might replace this thought with, "I can't be ugly because everyone is beautiful in their own way, "or" I'm unique, and that makes me beautiful."
Everyone is on their own journey, so it's unfair to you to measure your progress by looking at what others have achieved. Don't worry about what other people are doing. Instead, compare yourself to where you were in the past. For instance, don't worry if all your friends seem to be further along in their careers. Instead, compare your progress to where you were last year. Your time will come.
A. Praise yourself at least once a day.
B. Stop comparing yourself to other people.
C. This will help you see how you're progressing.
D. It's a series of decisions that you make every day.
E. Additionally, spend time with positive people, connect with others.
F. Keep a gratitude journal or list 3-5 things you're grateful for each day.

We all feel blessed by the great field of love that surrounds us all. Nowadays our kind neighbor has started to 1 her homemade foods to us every Friday evening. 2 every once in a while as she used to do it herself, I enjoy finding a little something I know she will like each week to 3 to her when she visits.
Sometimes I give her something of mine that I feel she'd 4 or I order something for her that we had spoken about that I knew she wanted. This Friday I was able to give her 5 I saw on the Fresh Direct website that was perfect for her and her family.
6 is progress for our beautiful neighbor, for although a generous giver, receiving was 7 for her in the past. We had a few conversations in the past where I 8 how receiving was a kindness act for the giver. 9 it has become easy for her to allow her kindness to others to be returned to her.
I enjoy her leisurely (悠闲) sit-down chats that 10 on these Fridays when she comes with delicious full course dinners. She likes to try out different recipes (食谱) and I always 11 her thumbs-up reviews the next day with a 12 emoji. What an adorable person she is! She started 13me the recipe the night before, telling us what she planned on making it always makes me 14 when I see it in my email and I send her back a "big wow" or a "can't wait" emoji.
We are both 15 at her generosity and feel blessed.
After orbiting Earth for six months, the three crew members of China's Shenzhou XIII mission returned to the mother planet on April 16, 2022, finishing the nation's (long) manned spaceflight.
Major General Zhai Zhigang, was the mission commander, Senior Colonel Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu breathed fresh air for the first time after the half-year space journey. Medical service workers the site told China Central Television that the astronauts are in good condition.
Zhai and his crewmates spent 183 days in an orbit about 400 kilometers above the Earth since their Shenzhou XIII spacecraft (launch) on Oct 16 by a Long March 2F carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. They were the second inhabitants (居民) of China's permanent space station (name) Tiangong. Carrying the (gradual) mission crew, the Shenzhou XII spacecraft circled the Earth several times to approach the mother planet.
The crew has set new record for China's spaceflight, almost (double) the previous record of 92 days created by their colleagues in the Shenzhou XII mission who travelled with Tiangong from mid-June to mid-September last year. Additionally, Shenzhou 13 set some other national
(mark) as well. For example, Wang Yaping became the first woman to live aboard Tianhe and the first Chinese woman ever (conduct) a spacewalk.
I often go climbing with my friend Mel Olsen, whom I'd met in a Face-book group. Two years ago, on December 30, when I was 16, she and I drove to Oregon to tackle 11, 240-foot Mount Hood. My parents were happy I'd finally found a hobby.
It's safer to start winter climbs at night when there's less risk of the sun melting the snowpack. That day, we started at 3 a. m, following the paths alongside the ski runs. The temperature was about 14 degrees. Along the way, we met two other climbers, and the four of us continued on together.
After about five hours, we reached Devil's Kitchen, a plateau at about 10, 000 feet, just before the final push to the top. By this point, the wind was violent. My exposed skin felt as though it were burning. The other climbers decided to turn back, but Mel and I went ahead. We had ice axes, helmets, and crampons (冰爪). We were prepared for the climb.
The trail we followed grew narrower and steeper. Suddenly, I heard a crack, and a whole block of ice broke off the ice step, right under my foot.
In an instant, I fell backward. I could hear Mel calling my name as I rolled down the mountain as if I were a character in a video game. I stuck out my arms and legs, grabbing at anything. My clothes were torn into pieces, my helmet was broken, and my face was bloodied from cuts and scratches. Then I took a survey of my body to see where I was hurt, starting with my head, then my neck and arms. For the most part, I was fine, except that I was suffering from a sharp pain in my left leg.
As Mel made her way down, I shouted for help, and other climbers came to assist me. A couple of them were trained EMTs. They fixed my leg and called Portland Mountain Rescue. Mel stayed by my side while I tried not to cry from the pain.
