I flew to the factory. They used Mr Tree to make matches
Some workers cut Mr Tree down and took him to a factory.
I flew to the village. I saw a girl beside a fire.
Spring came. I missed Mr Tree. I flew back to the forest. I saw no trees.
She used the last match to make a fire.
They took all the matches to a village.

Once upon a time, there was a fir tree (杉树) in a forest. It was short and thin. Children and animals liked to play under it. But it was not happy. "I want to be tall and strong," it thought.
Workers came to the forest and cut down some tall trees.
"Where do they go?" asked the fir tree.
"People take them away. They use the wood to make paper," a bird said.
"Tall trees are useful, but not me," thought the fir tree.
Then December came. A family came and took the fir tree home. They planted it in their garden. They put some small lights on it. They put a star on the top of it and some presents under it.
The fir tree became a Christmas tree!
"Thank you, little fir tree," said the children. "You make our garden beautiful!"
There were many apple trees in the garden. They were good friends. One day, an old tree was ill. There were many pests (害虫) in the tree. Leaves of the tree turned yellow. The old tree felt very sad and bad. His friends sent for a doctor to help him. At first, they sent for a pigeon (鸽子), but she had no idea about it. Then they sent for an oriole (黄鹂), and she couldn't do anything. Then they sent for a woodpecker. She was a good doctor. She made a hole in the tree and ate lots of pests. At last the old tree became better and better. The leaves turned greener and greener.
Two young trees are standing at the top of the hill. Their names are Tim and Alan.
One day, it's sunny and warm. Some birds are singing in the trees. The wind blows, and the trees are talking. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" asks Tim. "I'm not sure. I think I want to be a chair or a desk," answers Alan. "Maybe I want to be a toy box. I like children." " What do you want to be when you grow up?"asks Alan. "Me?" says Tim, " I just want to be a tree. I want to be a home for birds. I want to have many apples. And when it's sunny and hot, people and animals can stand under me."
