Mr Clinton and his 13-year-old son Tony are basketball fans. Last October 10th was Tony's birthday, so Mr Clinton decided to drive 1 to New York for the first game of the World Series. They had no ticket but hoped to buy a 2 from scalpers.
It was a two hours' ride. After they arrived, they walked in the street for two hours, 3 a sign that read, "We need two tickets." There were many scalpers around, but the cheapest ticket was $200. They were about to leave when suddenly man stopped them. He took out two tickets and 4 them to Mr Clinton.
"How much do you want?"
"Just a present," said the man. "Enjoy the game."
Mr Clinton wouldn't 5 so the man explained, "I'm Jackson. Hans is my boss. He and his wife haven't missed World Series in 18 years. But he is ill and can't watch the game this time. So he told me to give the two tickets to people 6 I thought would actually enjoy the game. A lot of people looked as if they might just take the tickets and sell them. Then I saw you and I followed you for a while. You seemed very disappointed. You 7 me think of my dad and me when I was a child. I dreamed of going to a World Series game with my father. But my dream never came true.
How do you suppose this made Mr Clinton and his son feel? Here is what Mr Clinton said, "This is the most 8 thing that ever happened to us. My boy and I must have turned to each other over 30 times and said, 'I can't believe this.' We still never forget Jackson and Hans."

What is the future of(人工智能)? Will it be good thing? We asked four students what they think.
I believe AI will be more useful in our future. It's now used in many fields, like phones and medicine. No one really knows what will happen if machines become smarter than humans. However, I'm sure Al will help us solve many problems.
am worried that people create something that can be better than themselves. In the near future, AI will develop at a high speed. Humans may be replaced because AI robots will do lots of human jobs.
I really think that Al will change the way we work, the way we live, and the way we think. Imagine if we could put a CPU inside our brain! Soon we'll be able to improve our maths and memory. How exciting!
Think of what's happening right now: Some robots are used to kill animals under human orders. So I think AI will be very dangerous for humans. We need to be careful about what we ask machines to do.
I walked home with my friend Jerry after school. He waved(挥手)goodbye and headed off to his house. When I was walking alone, I suddenly noticed a boy in front of me. He was carrying some of the same school books as mine.
He seemed to be singing a song in a very low voice, but I couldn't understand the words. I caught up to him, and said "Hello there". He was surprised, and dropped one of his books. I picked it up and handed it to him. He said "Thank you" in a strange way, like with a strong accent(口音).
"Your science book is just like mine."
"Oh, yes it is," he said.
We soon began walking together and chatting. It turned out he was in my science class, and I didn't even know it! His name was Ahmad, and his family had just moved here this school year. Ahmad was a hard name to pronounce correctly, but just about the time we reached his house, I could say it quite easily.
He invited me into his house, and it seemed like a much better choice than to head right home to start my homework. His family treated me like a special guest. He said in his culture, strangers were always treated very kindly. His mom brought out some great snacks, and offered me some tea. Ahmad's father and two sisters wanted to hear all about me, my family, and my schooling.
But their story opened up a whole new world for me! Ahmad's family had to leave their lifelong home because of the war. They left with only what they could carry. His family was happy to feel safe here, and they seemed pleased that Ahmad brought a friend home.
My friendship with Ahmad has continued. I realize that your friends don't have to be just like you. There is an old saying – "Variety Is the Spice(调味品)of Life".

Around the world, more and more people are taking part in dangerous sports and activities. In the past some people climbed the highest mountains, travelled into unknown parts of the world or sailed in small boats across the greatest oceans. Now, however, there are people who look for fast excitement from risky(冒险的)activity. It may only last few minutes or even seconds. Bungee jumping is good example.
For some reasons, some scientists explain that many people think their life in modern societies becomes safe and boring. Long long ago, people's lives were in danger. They had to go out and hunt for food, diseases could not be easily cured, and life was a continuous fight for survival.
Now, many people think life gives them little excitement. They live and work safely. They buy food in shops, and there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become ill. So some of these people look for danger in activities such as bungee jumping.
