Some people say they have an answer to the problems of car crowding and pollution. In many cities, hundreds of people ride bikes to work every day. In New York City, some bike riders have even 1 a group: Bike for a Better City. They say if 2 people rode bikes to work, there would be fewer cars and less dirty air.
For several years this group has tried to get help for bike riders. They want to have special roads for bikes only, because when bike riders must use the same roads 3 cars, there may be accidents. Bike for a Better City feels if there were bike roads, more people would use bikes.
But 4 bike roads have been ready yet. Not everyone thinks it is a good 5 . Drivers don't like it, and some shop owners don't, 6 . And most people live 7 far from the city to travel by bike. Still, 8 has been done about it. On Saturdays and Sundays, the largest open park in New York is 9 to cars, and the roads may be used by bikes only, but the group still says this is not enough and goes on fighting 10 bike roads.
Dear Abby,
I'm a helpless mother. My son Tom is 15 years old. I find that the older he grows, the less we talk. I feel very sad and I really need help.
My first problem is about his hobbies. He spends almost all his spare time on computer games. When he gets home, he always turns on the computer and closes the door. I'm getting worried about him, especially when his English teacher tells me he always gets low marks in the English exams.
Second, he likes new technology, but I don't have enough money and I can't afford all the things he wants.
Recently, I've found that he is always alone. I've never seen him talking to his friends on the phone or going out with anyone at weekends. That is the last problem I have.
What should I do to help him? Please give me some advice.
A helpless mother

"Andis the bridge long?"
"Very,thirty metres."
The old woman thanked him andwent towards the bridge, Suddenly she heard someone running after her. "Stop!" the man was shouting. "I'mvery sorry. I just remembered the bridge is forty metres long. If you go thirtymetres and then turn to the right, as I told you to do, you will fall into theriver.
