Last spring I took a walk in a park. In front of me there 1 a mum and her daughter. The mother took the little girl by the hand and the girl held 2 balloon in her hand. Suddenly, a light wind blew away the balloon. I thought she would cry. 3, no! The little girl turned around and saw her balloon 4 up to the sky. She cheerfully shouted out, "Wow!"
That little girl taught me 5. That night, I got a phone call 6 one of my friends. He told me an unexpected (出乎意料的) thing. Al first, I wanted to reply to him, "Oh no, 7 should me do?" But remembering that little girl, I said, "Wow! That is interesting! How 8 I help you?"
One thing is for sure! Life is always going to let us 9 unexpected problems. But we can decide (决定) how we look at them by ourselves. We can be angry or surprised. So 10 you meet one of the life's unexpected problems, remember that little girl's word "Wow" always works.
How's it going? Are you busy with your study these days? I'm very glad to tell you that our school life is changing 1 this term.
First of all, our school asks us to "clean" our plates when we have our 2. Some of us used to 3 more than what we could eat. That was a big waste of food. Now we need to 4 the food we order. We can also stop wasting in some other 5. For example, we should 6 the lights when we leave the classroom. And our school has opened up some 7 for us to learn how to grow vegetables. The school gives each class a small garden and our class has decided (决定) to grow some tomatoes and beans in our 8 time. I think that'll be very interesting. Maybe I'll be able to 9 you some beans we've grown by ourselves next time! Besides, we have only two classes in the afternoon, so we have more 10 for after-school activities.
Please write back soon and tell me more about your school.
Yours,
Cindy
Dear children, I need your help. I am a five year-old elephant. When I was a baby, I lived in the forest with my parents. But some people killed my mother, and they caught me. They wanted to use a car to take me to the circus first. But it was small, so they finally used a truck.
I had a big family. My mother was the head of the family. We traveled together, ate together, played together and slept together. When I was in the family, my mother and my sisters looked after me carefully. I played happily with all the other elephants. Now I miss them very much.
Many people enjoyed watching my wonderful tricks. To make them laugh, I had to work eight hours a day. I really don't like doing this. I never play any tricks in the forest. I don't enjoy any of the tricks. I played tricks because the people in the circus made me do so. And I heard some people wanted to see me because they love me. But most people were just thinking about themselves—what they want and what they like. Please think about me. I need to be free and to be with my family. Can you help me come back to my family?
From July lst, 2019, people in Shanghai must follow a new law. They can't throw away all the rubbish together. They need to sort rubbish.
According to the law, there are four kinds of rubbish: dry rubbish, wet rubbish, recyclable rubbish and harmful rubbish. If people don't sort the rubbish, they will get a fine. For a person, the fine can be 200 yuan. For a company, the fine can be 50,000 yuan.
Recycling waste is actually a complex system where separation (分开) and collection are just the first steps. No separation equals incineration (焚烧). For many people, it's difficult to sort their rubbish. So how do we sort the rubbish? Here are some ideas about it. For example, we can use paper again. So it is recyclable rubbish. Batteries are harmful rubbish, because they are bad for people and environment. The leftover (剩下的) food, flowers, and trees are wet rubbish. Finally, if the rubbish isn't recyclable rubbish, bad rubbish or wet rubbish, it is dry rubbish.
