We can take a road trip there together.
I often spend my summer holidays just with my parents. It is quite boring. But last summer holiday was1. Some of my friends came to stay with my parents and me for a week at our summer house. It is in a small beach town called Portsea. They got there by train. It2them three hours.
One morning my friends and I 3to take my parents' boat for a ride. We rowed (划船)4half an hour and found a big cave (山洞). Susan said it could be dangerous to go into it. But Peter said it was okay.5we started rowing again and got in. Then the tide (潮) started. At first we thought we could fight it but we were6. We shouted for7but there was no one around. Susan and I began to cry. Louis told us not to worry because the tide would be out. Because Louis always seemed to know the answer to8, we stopped crying.
Luckily, Louis was right9. After some hours the tide went out. We rowed back home quickly. We didn't10my parents about this special trip. And we were so afraid that we would not have a boat ride again.
Our family went to the Yellow Stone National Park last summer vacation. Our son, Tom, wanted to see bears there. And what a breathtaking experience (经历) it was!
When we got there, we put up our tent and went to explore (探险). As we returned, we heard our daughter Susie cry out. And then we saw a bear go into our tent.
Tom wanted his father to chase (追赶) it away. His father said, "No. It's dangerous to chase a bear. And don't let it chase you." Susie said, "What shall we do? Maybe we should climb up a tree." Tom said, "No. We have to get it out of there. It might (可能) go to sleep in our tent." "Maybe we could make it leave if we put some honey outside for it to eat, " Susie suggested (建议). Then I said, "How are you going to get the honey? It's in the tent." We watched the bear go into the tent and heard it upset (翻倒;弄翻) everything inside. "It's foolish (愚蠢的) of us to try to chase it away, " said my husband (丈夫)."Leave it alone and wait for it to come out." We waited, but the bear stayed inside. We had to sleep in the car that night.

Dear Liz,
Thailand is wonderful. Life in Bangkok is busy and interesting. My host family lives in a nice and quiet town outside the city. There are Mr and Mrs Phairat, their son Sanan and their daughter Chinda in the family.
I go to an international (国际的) school with Sanan and Chinda. I'm good at the spoken language, but Thai writing is very difficult. The cooking class is my favorite. When I come back, I will cook you a real Thai meal.
Last weekend I went to Pattaya Beach with Sanan and Chinda by car. I thought it was great. Next month we will go to Phuket Island. My parents went there last year, Now Chinda is teaching me how to swim. I hope I can swim happily with her on Phuket Island.
Elephants are very important in Thailand. People use them to do work. They also ride them and wash them. They look very interesting.
Love,
Minnie
