Fire can help people in many ways, but it can also be dangerous (危险P. Fire can keep you warm, give light and cook food. However, big fire can also burn (燃烧) your house and hurt you. Nobody knows how ancient (古代的) people started using fire. Today, people can make fire very easily. They use matches (火柴) and lighters (打火机). Sometimes children like to play with them, but it can be very dangerous. One match can burn a piece of paper, and a small fire can start a big fire to burn everything. So you must be careful with matches. If you use the fire in the right way, it can help you, but if you use it in the wrong way, it may hurt you.
Water is very important to us. If you don't have water for three days, you will die. We can use water for flowers, swimming, washing and many different things. We use it to cook, make electricity (发电), put out fires（灭火） and so on. We use millions of liters (百万公升) of water every day.
Do you know how does the water come to your home? It travels through water pipes (管子).
Some are long and wide, but some are short and narrow. Then the water travels through the water pipes to the reservoirs (水库). Then it travels through the water pipes to the river and to the special factories(we call water plants)that purify (净化） the water. When the water is purified, we can drink it. Please don't leave garbage (垃圾) in the water on which we line, and keep the water clean.
