Hongbao, usually a red envelope(信封) with some money inside, is a kind of traditional gift in China. It is a way to show love, good(wish) or blessings(祈祷). This tradition(start) more than 2, 000 years ago when old people used to give money to their grandchildren for good luck in the coming New Year.
Now something has changed. People prefer to send virtual(虚拟的) hongbao insteadthe traditional one and it helps people give or receive hongbao more(easy) on the mobile phones. This new form of hongbao has become very popular with the WeChat users. During the Spring Festival, I gave out at(little) 300 yuan by using WeChat and was unable(get) back most of the money I gave.I got the smallest hongbao with 0.01 yuan in it, I still had great fun. No matter how people send hongbao, the meaning behind it issame.

Nowadays we can see more and more electric bikes in the street. Electric bikes (be) easy to ride. They run fast and make no
(pollute). They become very popular, the electric .bikes also cause more traffic accidents. So China plans (make) a new rule for the electric bike riders. If an electric bike is heavier than 40 kilos and can go (fast) than 20 kilometres an hour, its rider must get a license. It means riders have to pass driving tests before they ride (they) electric bikes on the road.
People have different ideas after (hear) the plan. Some welcome the plan. A bus driver said happily, "What good plan! I think it will make the street much safer."
Some are not happy with the new rule at all. One rider said (sad), "I don't want to get a license. It's not convenient me to get one." Some don't care about it. I haven't written till now. I've been busy with the course and making new friends since I got here. I'm speaking English with my classmates all the time and going out in the evening with (they). We're a real mix of nationalities: Chinese, Russian, Italian, Spanish ... We talk about kinds of things English and I'm learning a lot about other languages and countries too.
My host family are very nice. The parents are very (friend) and kind. The children are both in primary school they are very sweet. But they can be a bit annoying(恼人的) too. If we have to watch the film Frozen together one more time, I'm going crazy! I know all the (song) by heart now!
We live near the school. It's a short bus ride from Edinburgh city centre. There is ancient castle(城堡) and we 're going there next week. Yesterday my Italian friend invited me (watch) the free street shows. We (see) a magician doing card games- it was so much fun!

In China, the Spring Festival is the most important festival. It falls the first day of the first lunar month.
Before the Spring Festival comes, people go out (buy) things, as meat, chicken, fish, fruit, sweets and new clothes. They clean their houses and decorate (装饰) them. The Chinese character fu is a must. It is (usual) stuck (贴) upside down, which means fu comes.
The celebrations begin on the eve of the lunar New Year. The family get together for a big dinner. If a person is far home, he will always try to get home for this big dinner. After the dinner, the whole family will sit together, chatting and watching TV.
During the holidays, they go to visit relatives and (friend) and exchange New Year greetings. They sit around (talk) and eating candies, cakes and all kinds of delicious foods. Every family prepares something special. Each child will get money a New Year gift. People in the north of China often eat dumplings for breakfast. People in the south often eat niangao because niangao means (high) and higher one year after another.
The celebrations last 15 days. They will come to end when the Lantern Festival is over.
