The future is coming! All over the world there are many new ideas of new places to live and work in and some of them will be in the sea! They will be very big and lots of people will live and work in them. The Americans are planning to build a town called Atlantic City. It will be in the sea, about five miles away from the land. But the most exciting idea comes from Japan. It is called Aeropolis. Aeropolis will be a huge sea city with parks, schools, a hospital and an airport…it will move! It will travel slowly around the world. There are just two problems. Aeropolis will cost (花费)a lot of money to make. And for people who get seasick(晕船的), it won't be much fun.
In the future, cookers will be ready for you to cook a complete meal at the touch of a switch at home. The television will tell you prices at the shops, news and entertainment. Videophones will bring pictures as well as sound. The home will become the centre of entertainment through television and electronic games. Machines will control temperature, lighting, entertainment, washing and gardening. Lighting serves as wallpaper and it will make your room look nicer. More people will eat out than they do today. Also they will have a lot more kinds of food.
At work, robots will take over most jobs in factories. Working hours will fall to under 30 hours a week. Holidays will get longer.
There will be more foreign travels. Nonstop flights will be cheaper. Hobbies and education will become more and more important.

But most people would like to go to the past and don't like to go to the future, because the environment(环境)in the future will be very bad. There will be few trees and animals. And there will be a lot of rubbish(垃圾).
Not everyone can go to the past or the future. You have to be more than 18 years old, Before your travelling, you need to fill in a form (填写一张表格). You need to write your name, age and the reason to take the journey. When you go there, you can't take anything with you. And you have to come back in three days.
