Most people assume that the human brain learns all by (it). But this isn't always true. We need to train ourselves to be better learners — to actively take part in the learning process and to reflect on we have learnt. These kinds of learning behaviours are called "active learning". I suggest doing five things to take an active role in your learning.
First, listen to the outer voice. Although your inner voice can be useful, it can also get in way of learning. Active learners are open-minded and tend to focus the outer voice. Second, argue with your inner voice. If you find your inner voice difficult (control), you can argue with it as most active learners do. Be flexible in your opinions and you might end up (agree) with the speaker/writer after all. Third, ask questions. Asking questions is the (easy) way to promote active learning. The answers will lead you to further learning, and the very act of working out questions will help you to achieve a higher level of understanding about the topic. Fourth, get to the truth. Active learners do not accept everything they learn. They attempt to find the (true) at the heart of each idea. Finally, focus on the message. Many people refuse to learn or ignore what (say) because of who the speaker/writer is. Active learners do not judge people (base) on first impressions or personal feelings. Instead, they separate the message from the messenger.
Have you still remembered what happened when you went to school on the first day? I still remember my interesting first day of school. On that day, I hurried to my science class in the morning and found a seat in the back. I waited there for 15 minutes before the bell rang. The science teacher told us about some class rules. No one talked to me; nor did I talk to anyone else. I was one of those very shy girls. After the science class, I had an English class. I thought it would be boring but it turned out to be very funny. When the classes of the morning ended I went to lunch. I sat outside the dining room with no one to talk to and no food because I was too nervous to join the lunch line. I kept looking around hoping to see someone I knew but I never saw anyone.
Lunch ended and I went to have my art class. I was the first one there and not even my teacher was there yet. So I sat at my desk and started drawing some pictures. I didn't notice the rest of the class walking in or the girl that was standing behind me till I was surprised by the voice, "So what are you drawing?" It was a girl who had really long hair. She ended up being my best friend and one of the kindest and liveliest girls I know.
In the next class meeting, the teacher asked us to talk about the past holiday. I was glad to make some new friends in the class. The first day of high school was hard for me but I got through it.
Many people go to school for education. They learn languages, history, politics, geography, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can make a living. School education is very important and useful. Yet, no one can learn everything from school. A teacher, no matter how much he knows, cannot teach his students everything they want to know. The teacher's job is to show his students how to learn. He teaches them how to read and how to think. So, much more is to be learned outside school by the students themselves.
It is always more important to know how to study by oneself than to memorise some facts or a formula(公式). It is actually quite easy to learn a certain fact in history or a formula in mathematics. But it is very difficult to use a formula in working out a maths problem. Great scientists before us didn't get everything from school. Their teachers only showed them the way. Edison did not even finish primary school. But they were all so successful. They invented so many things for mankind. The reason for their success is that they knew how to study. They read books that were not taught at school. They would ask many questions as they read. They did thousands of experiments. They worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. Above all, they knew how to use their brains.
Growing up I didn't care much about going to college if I performed well during high school. Now attending college and learning more and more makes me appreciate how important education is to me. School is very timely and precise. Little mistakes you make can mean a big deduction(扣除) off your grade.
School is my main priority because it means so much to me. Education is the most important part in your schooling because it leads to your success. Education holds the key to a successful future.
The more education I receive, the more choices and opportunities I will have. With a good education, I have more options, which often lead to greater success and happiness in life. By going to college, I can choose what I want to do in life. Students will also be able to choose a career that interests them and that will enable them to achieve their dreams.
Education starts in grade school and up. On average, a person with a four-year college degree earns more money than a person who graduates from high school but does not attend college. The more educational opportunities I'm exposed to, the more knowledge and skills I will obtain. The education that I will be exposed to will come from a variety of people, topics, and experiences. In college I will learn about things that interest me. Growth and development will occur in many areas, including decision-making, reasoning, creative expression, and more.
A. Successful people all have degrees.
B. Everything is done differently there.
C. Education is built through actions not words.
D. Going to college will help me to make a difference in my life.
E. Everyone should value education and get all the knowledge while they can.
F. The more education you receive, the more money you may be able to earn.
G. Education can also help an individual to reach his/her life goals and dreams.
A visually-challenged man from Beijing recently hiked(徒步) 40 days to Xi'an, as a first step (journey) the Belt and Road route(路线) by foot.
On the 1, 100-kilometer journey, the man Cao Shengkang, lost his eyesight at the age of eight in a car accident, crossed 40 cities and counties in three provinces. Inspired by the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (hold) in Beijing, Cao decided to cover the route by hiking as a tribute(致敬) to the ancient Silk Road. friend of his, Wu Fan, volunteered to be his companion during the trip.
Cao and Wu also collected garbage along the road, in order to promote environmental (protect). Cao believes this will make the hiking trip even more (meaning). The two of them collected more than 1, 000 plastic bottles along the 40-day journey.
In the last five years, Cao (walk) through 34 countries in six continents, and in 2016, he reached the top of Kilimanjaro, Africa's (high) mountain.
Now, Cao has started the second part of his dream to walk along the Belt and Road route. He flew 4, 700 kilometers Xi'an to Kashgar on Sept. 20, (plan) to hike back to Xi'an in five months.
