Hello, I'm John. I'm an Australian boy. I study in Shanghai. I like China very much and now I know a lot about China. The Spring Festival is an important Chinese festival. It is different from our Australian New Year. There are 12 different names for each year(每年). They are the year of the monkey, the year of the dog, the year of the tiger. . . Before the Spring Festival, Chinese people are busy shopping and cleaning. On New Year's Eve, there is a big family dinner. They usually eat dumplings. After dinner, the family stay up late(守夜) to welcome Chinese New Year. On the first day of the Spring Festival, they wear new clothes to visit their relatives(亲戚) and say "Happy New Year" to each other. I like the Spring Festival.

I like the MidAutumn Festival. It comes in September or October. It is usually cool at this time. On this day, we get together with our family. In the evening, we have a big dinner. There is always a full moon hanging in the sky this night. We go outside and watch the moon. We talk and play. We also share nice mooncakes. Grandma always tells us a story about Chang'e.

My favourite festival is the Dragon Boat Festival. It's in May or June. We eat rice dumplings on that day. Sometimes there are dragon boat races(赛龙舟) in the river near my home. A lot of people come and watch them. The races are very interesting.
