The Silk Road is a historically important international trade route between China and the Mediterranean(地中海). It began during the Western Han Dynasty and has been a bridge between East and West for over 2,000 years.
The ancient road started from Chang'an(now Xi'an) and ended in Eastern Europe, near today's Turkey and the Mediterranean Sea. It was about 6,500 kilometers long and went across one-fourth of the earth.
The Silk Road got its name in the 19th century because Chinese silk used to be carried along this road. Silk, jade, ceramics and iron went west to Rome. And from the west came glass, gems and food like carrots.
The Silk Road was very important to both China and the rest of the world. It was more than an ancient international trade route. In this way, languages and cultures developed(发展)and influenced(影响)each other.

I (visit) the London Eye last summer with a friend. My friend (not) know where we were going. I just told him we (will) go somewhere very special. As we arrived Waterloo Station, he had worked out where we were going. He smiled (happy). When we reached the London Eye, there was a very long waiting line, so in order to save time, he stayed in the line when I went to buy the tickets.
The capsule doesn't completely stop when people get on, so you have to get into it quickly. Then the door of the capsule shuts. The view was (wonder). We took many photos of the view and of (we). took about half an hour for the capsule to go around.
you are interested in going there, I'd like to give you some advice. To enjoy the view, go in the daytime. There night rides, but you won't see a lot. Sometimes the top of the wheel can be quite cool even though it's sunny. So ladies, don't forget to take a scarf.

After studying for a long time, my brother has now graduated and we are very to have a doctor in the family! My mother and father, my sister and I are all interested in arts and languages. No one in the family has ever studied medicine before—it is so difficult and takes such a long time . So we're all very proud of him. As well as this, we have a doctor of our own to ask any medical problems we have! How good is that? I think Micky will become excellent doctor. He's patient and understanding, and he about people a lot. He has at a car accident and done some small operations(手术). I admire him very much. I can't stand the sight of blood, so I could never do what he does!
Micky says he wants to work in hospital where he can help people with different . Though he knows doctors in hospital work very long hours, he doesn't mind. In opinion, it's wonderful if you can have a job that you enjoy and Micky has found one. I just hope he isn't busy that the rest of us have to make an appointment(预约) to say hello.
