    What the problem is

    In the 1960s China had a  time. People didn' t have enough food to eat. 

    How to solve it

    At that time, Yuan Longping was just a . He wanted to grow a new kind of 

    He spent  years working in the field and won the world over. His  rice helped feed 100 million more Chinese. 

    Food shortage was a big problem in China many years ago.<br />The country has nearly one-fifth of the world's population, but only a little farmland.<br />In the 1960s, China had a hard time.<br />People didn't have enough food to eat.<br />At that time, Yuan Longping was just a teacher.<br />He wanted to grow a new kind of rice.<br />Few people believed Yuan could do it.<br />But he spent ten years working in the field and won the world over.<br />His special rice helped feed one hundred million more Chinese.<br />He became very rich.<br />But for seventy-seven year old Yuan Longping, money means nothing.<br />Now he is working on another kind of super rice.<br />He hopes it will feed more people.<br />He rides eight kilometers on his motorbike into the fields twice a day.<br />He still works like a farmer.
