If you see someone fall down suddenly, perhaps as a result of a heart attack, what can you do while you wait for professional help?
Chen Wenqiaochu set a good example when he was fourteen. He performed CPR (心复苏术) on a staff person at his school, saving the man's life in 2013. According to medical experts, there is a "golden period" — the first four minutes of a heart attack. During this time, CPR is best for saving the person's life.
In August, 2020, all public schools nationwide were asked to provide CPR courses in China, as part of health education. CPR is not hard to grasp. All that one needs to know is how to watch and decide if a person has a heart attack, where to press on the patient's chest (胸), and how to blow air through the mouth and into the lungs (肺) .
Unluckily, less than one percent of Chinese adults have mastered the skill of CPR, while many have never heard of it. A 2019 survey from China Youth Daily showed that although 64.6% of schools opened health education courses, the teaching results were not satisfactory.
Zhao Shengyu, a graduate from a high school, remembered her first time to be taught CPR in the class. "No model, video or practice was included. I realized the acts I had been taught had lots of mistakes after I was trained another time in a medical school," she said. According to her own experience, Zhao said more professional CPR courses in schools were necessary.
Most countries have attached importance to CPR training. It was shown in a survey in 2017 that more than half of Americans had received CPR training. Switzerland, Germany, France and some other countries have also provided CPR training.

There is a traditional toy called taiping nijiaojiao. It is a clay toy and also a whistle (哨子) in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. It has a history of over 1,000 years.
Taiping nijiaojiao is made of the mud from the local mountain. It takes more than ten steps to make the clay toy, and the key step is to knead (捏) it with your hands. You can knead the clay toy into anything, like animals and plants. The blowhole is the most difficult part to make, for the size of the blowhole makes a difference to the sound. While coloring, you can use traditional cultural elements (元素) that carry good meanings. It's hard to make taiping nijiaojiao. But when you finally make it, you will feel proud of yourself.
Zhou Baokang, a lover of folk art, learned how to make the clay toy from local artists about 20 years ago. He wants more people to know about it, so he has opened a museum to introduce the clay toy. He teaches kids how to make the clay toy, too.
There are many traditional art forms in China, but some of them have been lost. Luckily, the traditional clay toy taiping nijiaojiao is kept to this day.
Parents helped us in all sides when we were very young. As we grow older, we may help them. Families can succeed in reaching goals when all family members help one another.
What makes real family members? Whoever we are, our family members are the most important in our lives. Family members support each other in many ways besides money or helping around the house. On the one hand, we can share our hopes, dreams or problems when we communicate with them. On the other hand, we can get a strong feeling of satisfaction and confidence with their help.
How to build good family relationships needs a lot of efforts. Firstly, everyone in the family needs to get along well with each other and shouldn't have conflicts. Secondly, family members should share thoughts and feelings while eating meals, traveling or working together. Thirdly, we should talk with each other about our worries and then solve them together because family members can encourage one another to set goals and achieve dreams. Finally, we are supposed to spend time listening to family members. Listening shows we care about them as much as they care about us.
In a word, family members can make us full of energy and powerful all the time.
