It is good to keep animals in zoos. Zoos are places for people to see many different kinds of animals from all over the world. Without zoos, most people would never see a real tiger or bear. Secondly, zoos look after the animals very well. The animals are always given food and cleaned on time. In the wild, it is not always possible for an animal to find food, so sometimes it goes hungry. Thirdly, Zoos protect the animals. They offer them safe place to live in. In the wild, some kinds of animals are in danger of becoming extinct (灭绝). But zoos give these animals a chance to live. Without zoos, there would be fewer kinds of animals in the world.
However, some people think it is unnatural (非自然的) and unfair to keep wild animals in cages. Most animals are kept in cages that are too small for them. The animals such as bears and tigers always look sad in cages. Wild animals should look for their own food.

Tommy hates school and is always looking for excuse (借口) not to go. He spends more time at home than at school. On the days he has to (不得不) go to school, he looks for excuses to come home early.
One day he comes home from school in the middle of day. His father is surprised, "You're home early, is the school closed (关闭的) today?"
"No, Dad," Tommy says, "It's open. I came home early"
"How can you do that? What do you say to the teacher?"
"I told her that I had a new baby brother and that I had to come home and help you."
"But your mother has had twins (双胞胎)," his father says, "you've got a baby brother and a baby sister."
"Yes, I know, Dad," Tommy says," "I'm saving up my baby sister for (为..而储蓄) next week."

"Yes, my friend will be back soon! He is in the toilet," the woman answers.

Ten minutes later the train starts to move.
"Oh, poor fellow. Your friend misses the train, but he can't lose his bag. "

I had a great summer holiday. I went to the countryside. I stayed at a beautiful village. I arrived on Monday and ate some fresh fish. On Tuesday I had some tasty fruit. Grapes are my favourite. On Wednesday I tasted some fresh vegetables. They are good for my health. On Thursday I drank some carrot juice. It was fresh and healthy. On Friday, I went swimming with my friends. I was very happy.
Teddy was a happy bear. He lived in a beautiful forest. Every day, Teddy picked the fruit on the trees. Teddy had many friends in the forest. Sometimes they went to the river together. They caught a lot of fish.
One day, some people came and cut down hundreds of trees. They built a factory in the forest. The factory gave out black smoke and dirty water. The forest was not beautiful any more.
Teddy went to the river. The water was too dirty. There were no more fish in the river. He felt very sad. Finally, he had to leave the forest.
Carol: Hi, Julia. How was your weekend?
Julia: It was wonderful. I stayed at home all day and read a book.
Carol: A book? What was it about?
Julia: It was about rabbits. It was interesting.
Carol: Rabbits? What did the book say?
Julia: Rabbits' eyes have different colours. White rabbits have red eyes. Black rabbits have black ones. Gray rabbits have gray eyes!
Carol: Ah! The colour of rabbits' eyes are different! I can't believe it!
Julia: That's true! And rabbits can see clearly at night!
Carol: That's super! It's really an interesting book. Can I read it?
Julia: Of course. Go with me!
Carol: Thank you! I can't wait to read it!
