For 16-year-old Ma Yifei, the violin performance of the Beijing 2022 Olympic theme song, Snowflake, was her best1 for Paralympians（残奥运动员）all over the world. "I'm also disabled and I want to do2 for them with my music," said Ma. 

Ma became3 at the age of two because of an illness. She began to take interest in4 when she was young. She started to learn to5 the piano at five and the violin at nine,experiencing the "colorful" music through sound and emotion.

Many of us are like this. We have wings to fly; we know how to fly, and where to fly. Still we sit doing nothing or doing something that makes us inferior（较差的）to others. 

When my daughter was in primary school, she brought home four small twigs （嫩枝）from school to plant. None of them looked very hardy, but with hope for the future. I planted them somewhere in our backyard that had enough sunlight. Over the years,because of the poor soil, three of them died. Only one was alive. It grew crooked（弯弯曲曲的）and very slowly. It looked more like a fat bush （灌木从）than a tree. Later, I noticed that it was starting to dic. The lower branches hardly had leaves. Only the top third of the tree was still green. I did my best to save it but it didn't work. 

Later one morning I went out and looked at it again. I was wondering whether it would be better to just cut it down. lt would make the yard look cleaner. As I walked over to take a closer look at it,however, I noticed something moving within the leaves. It was a robin（知更鸟）patiently building a nest in the topmost branches. I thought maybe this old tree was still useful. It might not be healthy or pretty,but it was still giving a bird a home. 

This tree reminded me that all of our lives have a purpose. It doesn't matter if we are young and strong or old and sick. Until our last breath, we have things to do, love to give and joy to share. We can help to make this world a better and more beautiful place. 

How is your memory? Remembering things is an important function of our brain. If you think about it, there is so much we have to remember - from where we left our car keys to how we walk. However, do you often find you are forgetful?

Mernory allows the brain to store and recall information when needed. Our short-term memory can hold a small amount of information for a short time, while our long-term memory can hold a large amount of information for a long timc. Our memory is amazing, but why do we still forget things?

However, as Luis Villazon says, "Forgetting is not always a bad thing! It would be too tiring if we remembered everything of the world around us. " There is always something that we can keep in mind!

Self-reflection begins with slowing down and calming yourself, including calming your mind. Then you can give your brain a chance to think about what it has already received . Some people prefer to do self-reflection only in their minds. Either of the methods works. It depends on your own personal learning ability. 

You can take the following steps. Firstly, choose a proper time to do it. Every night before you go to bed, you can do self reflection over what you have learned in the daytime. When you complete a unit of study, you can do self reflection by drawing a mind map. write down some notes on the new things that you have just learned . And connect them with the previous knowledge. As a result, you can understand them better. At last, think about the questions you're not sure of and write them down. This will help you remember to look for answers when you are working on the same topic next time.
