We make a lot of junk （垃圾）every day. We throw it all away. But junk is not junk for the pupils at Being BISS International School. They turn the junk into works of art. They collect paper, old cloth, old CDs and many other things together. Everyone picks up what he or she needs. They make pieces of art out of the junk.
Arun, 10, is a fifth grader. She makes a robot. "I use a broken clock for his face, an old toy for his arms and hands and bottle caps for his eyes,"she says.
Justus,8, is a third grader.He uses the junk to make Han Solo from Star Wars （《星球大战》).This owl is made of old CDs,an ice cream lid and the top of a fan.
Justus and Arun hold their art. This fly is made of plastic forks, a speaker and some but tons.
Tom and Li Hua are students in Grade 6. They both have their hobbies. Tom likes music and he often goes to the music club. He can't sing or dance, but he can play the piano, but he can't play well. He is working hard now.
Li Hua doesn't like music and but he likes sports and he likes playing table tennis very much. Usually he goes to the table tennis room after school. He plays with his cousin Li Ming. Li Ming is young and he is a student in Grade 5. He couldn't play 5 years ago, but now he can play very well.
Alice is my new friend. She is from Australia. She is beautiful with two big eyes. She likes reading books. She wants to be a writer in the future. Her father is a teacher. He teaches math at a middle school. He is kind to his students. He takes a bus to go to work. He thinks it is good to the environment( 环境). Her mother is a nurse. She works in a hospital. She goes to work by car. She always works long hours. So she is tired sometimes. At weekends, she sings in a club. Alice has a sister Ann. They are twins. They look the same, but they are very different in some ways. Every morning, Alice goes to school by bike, but Ann goes to school on foot. After school, they usually finish their homework first. Then Alice reads books. Ann watches cartoons on TV. Sometimes she draws cartoons by herself.
Summer holiday began and Richard left California and went traveling in Africa. He lost his wallet in a hotel and he had a little money left. He had to go to a city where one of his friends worked. There he was going to borrow some money so that he could fly back to his country. He got on a bus. and the conductor （售票员） held out to him a yellow ticket "You bad better buy a yellow ticket," said the conductor. "It's ten dollars. I have two other kinds. The red one is five dollars and the green one is three dollars."
It took them two days to get to the city. The passengers had to stay for a night when they were halfway. Richard bad to pay five dollars for the hotel and food. He thought for a while and then said. "Green, please." The bus started. Now it was getting dark and the bus began to go up a hill, It was very steep （陡峭的） and soon the bus stopped as usual.
"Yellow ticket passengers," the driver shouted, "Stay in the bus, please. Red ticket passengers, get out and walk. Green ticket passengers, get out, close the door and push the bus!"
There is a farmer lives in the forest far from the village. One morning, the farmer wants to sell his old horse in the village. I he farmer and his son walk there, because the farmer doesn't want the horse to be too tired.
They meet a man on the road, the man says, "Why are you walking, farmer? You have a horse, It's a long way to the village." The farmer knows that this is right, so he sits on the horse, and his son walks.
Then they meet an old woman, "What are you doing up there, farmer? Can't you see how tired the boy is?" So the farmer gets down, and his son sits on the hors.
Next, three old men see them, one says, Why are you walking, farmer? Get up, It's too hot for an old man like you to walk today." So the farmer gets on the horse and sits behind his son, and they go on.
Some time later, a young woman passes them, "Why aren't you walking?" she asks, "It isn't far to the village. Give your horse a rest." So the farmer and his son get down again.
