It's not early, but Dick and Betty are still in bed. They feel cold and they like their warm beds.
Mother comes in. She says, "Look, children. The world is white." The two children sit up and look out of the window. How nice! There is snow in the garden. There is snow on the trees and on the houses, too.
"We can have a good time today," the children say. "You must put on very warm clothes before you go out," Mother says.
Now the children are in the garden. Dick is making snowballs and throwing them at Betty. Betty is running to Father for help but she can't run fast. What is Father doing? He is making a snowman. The children
begin to throw snowballs at the snowman and laugh.
There are many sports in the world. Football and basketball are very popular (流行) in the world. Many people like playing football but many people like to watch it, too. I am a football goal keeper(守门员). My job(工作) is to keep the ball out of the goal(球门). Football player can kick (踢) the ball, but they do not touch it with their hands. But I can catch the ball with my hands. Football is a group game. Everyone in the team (队) must do his best. Then the team can win (赢).
I have five friends. They like different sports.
Tom likes playing volleyball and football. Jim likes playing basketball and volleyball. Kitty likes table tennis and badminton. She often plays them with her good friends. Alice likes table tennis and badminton. She often plays table tennis with me. Joe is tall and thin. He likes playing basketball and football. He is good at them. He wants to be a basketball star like Yao Ming in the future.
