Do grown-ups still grow? Well, some parts of a grown-up's body do not grow, but some do.
Grown-ups cannot get taller. The bones (骨骼) of their arms, legs and neck lose the ability to get longer. After the age of 30, people start to become a little bit shorter. They will have lost about two and a half centimeters of height by the age of 55.
Meter your height when you get out of bed in the morning and then again before you go to bed that night. You will be a little bit shorter at night because during the day, your cartilage has got pressed together. When you sleep, the cartilage opens up, and you are taller again in the morning.
Grown-ups can grow bigger muscles (肌肉) if they exercise and if they eat healthy food. Riding a bicycle or running a lot will make leg muscles bigger. It's best to do some exercise for all the muscles.
This is also a kind of growth, but not a healthy one. The best way to grow healthily is to exercise often and eat a lot of different healthy foods.
A.This happens even to kids. B.Grown-ups do get shorter, however. C.Doing push-ups (俯卧撑) can help improve arm muscles. D.Many grown-ups are trying more healthy food to make their muscles bigger. E.Eating lots of fatty and sugary food can make adults and children put on weight, too. F.They get shorter because the connections between bones, called cartilage (软骨), get pressed together. |

Suddenly, the lights focused on the piano on the stage. In surprise, the mother found her little boy sitting at the piano. knowing where he was, the boy was picking out Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
At that moment, the great piano master appeared, moved to the piano , and whispered (耳语) in the boy's ear, "Don't stop. Keep playing." Then he sat down and added a running obbligato (伴奏). Together, the old master and the young beginner changed an embarrassing situation into a wonderfully creative experience. It became one of the parts of the whole concert that evening. The people were touched so much by the master and the mother was shocked. She believed that such an experience would make a big to her boy's life.
In fact, that's the way it is in life. What we can do on our own is hardly unusual. We tried our best, but the aren't exactly smooth music like what we have expected. But when we trust in the hands of a greater power, our life's work can be truly beautiful.
Next time you set out great works, listen carefully. You can hear the voice of the master, whispering in your ear, "Don't stop. Keep playing."
