When I was eleven years old, my life changed got a serious disease．My life was 1 with operations and treatments．I felt stressed because I was really uncertain about everything that was happening．
One day, I was receiving my thirteenth operation in the hospital．Being away from my friends and school was causing me almost as much2 as the operation itself．
During that hospital stay, I received a card from a volunteer．That simple act meant much to me and gave me hope again during my time of need．I'll never 3 the way I felt after that small act of kindness．I started creating an organization called Cards for Hospitalized（住院的）kids．

A young man with excellent grades wanted to get a job in a big company．He met the manager for the interview．The manager asked, "Who paid for your education?"

One dollar and eighty-seven cents．That was all．Three times Della counted it．One dollar and eighty-seven cents．And the next day would be Christmas．She could not afford a present, so she sat down and cried．
