One cold winter night in Shanghai, I was walking home at 1:00 a. m. after working long hours.I had bad luck with my job in the bank. The boss was not friendly or kind to me. Tired, I even thought about giving up (放弃) the job. City life here was really hard for me.

They found some of the workers saw lots of light during the morning hours, between 8 a. m. and lunchtime. They found they had a better sleep than others. They also fell asleep more rapidly at night.
Why is sunlight so important to your sleep? Scientists say it helps set your"body clock". When there is less and less sunlight at the end of the day, your body starts to make melatonin(褪黑素). It makes you feel sleepy(困乏的). Your body makes the most melatonin at night. During the day,sunlight tells your body to make less melatonin. This keeps you awake(醒着的).
Scientists think it is good for you to see 15 minutes of sunlight in the morning. It can help balance(平衡) the melatonin in your body.
