The world is so big. Do you want to have a look?
At the present time, more and more people love traveling. It's a very good 1 to know about cultures and acquire experiences. It helps travelers 2 a lot. Travel can make our minds become 3 .
But travel does more than all that. It can also make us more creative (创造性的). In recent years, some professors have been doing research on what many people have already learned from travel experiences They believe that spending time abroad (海外) makes it possible to 4 people's mind. For example, they found that the students who lived abroad for a longer time were better at 5 problems creatively than those who did not. If you stay in the same place, you can't experience new sights, new smells, new sounds and new cultures. All these can 6 your mind and make it more active. 7 , that doesn't mean the more places you went to, the more creative you'll become. Another group of professors did some similar research. They found the people who often traveled from one place to another didn't have enough 8 to lose themselves in a new place and a new culture. They weren't as creative as the people who spent the time 9 getting to know a place. You have to interact (相互影响) with the places you go to and then you can learn a lot.
If you go travelling, which do you 10 , staying in a place for a certain period or rushing all the way.
Travel is fun and exciting, but it's not if you get sick. You may think, "Not me. I won't get sick on my vacation." But for many people, that is what happens.
A vacation is supposed to be a time for relaxing. But very often it is not. "What can I do when I am a tourist?" This is what we should often think about. Usually, you may spend most days walking around some places of interest. Walking too much can be very tiring. It can cause your feet to hurt. And you may have a terrible headache after a few hours. It will weaken your body at last. If this is what you feel, you should take a rest. Don't ask your body to do too much. A tired body means a weak body. And a weak body can make you get ailing easily and see a doctor. Just sit down for a few hours in a nice place. In good weather, look for a quiet park bench (长凳).
Sleep is also important. If you want to keep healthy, you need enough sleep. You may have trouble sleeping at night when you travel. If that is true, don't be afraid to change rooms or hotels. You may not get enough sleep for another reason. In many cities the night life can be very exciting. Then you should plan to sleep for a few hours during the day. The extra (额外的) hours can make a big difference.
Finally, if you want to stay healthy, you must eat well. Your body needs fresh fruit and vegetables, and some milk. When you are in a new country, you may want to try new foods but you need to be careful about how much you eat. Lots of rich food is not very good for you.
A special concert performed by primary school students from China and the United Kingdom was held in the music hall of China National Traditional Orchestra on Thursday, showing the blend (融合) of Chinese and Western musical traditions.
Over 200 students from Fangcaodi International School's Century Primary School and students and teachers from its sister school, Richard Alibon Primary School in the UK, attended the concert to exchange their stories and understandings of their cultures.
Music has no boundaries (国界), and cultural differences make the world more colorful, said Wu Jianguo, headmaster of the primary school in Beijing. He also added that these young artists combine folk songs with choirs (合唱队), blending Eastern and Western cultures through their performances.
A group of high school students from Washington, USA, received a warm welcome Monday as they started a two-day visit to Shenzhen. Ten volunteers from Shenzhen University supported them during their stay.
The students were part of a larger program announced (宣布) by President Xi Jinping last November. In the program, 50, 000 young Americans will be invited to China for exchange and study over the next five years.
The visit was packed with different activities. On the first day, students explored both nature and the city by visiting the Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve. The American students and SZU volunteers then went to the "Mirror of the Sky" observation deck, where they enjoyed wonderful views of the area around. Following this, the group planted trees near Qianhai. They ended their day at Coco Park.
Audrianna from Lincoln High School hoped to buy Chinese jewelry (珠宝) as a gift for her mom. "They look so amazing!" she said. Students also exchanged views on eco-friendly lifestyles. Makenna, from Steilacoom High School, shared her community's habits of recycling shopping bags, and noted China's efforts in rubbish sorting. Another student, Montserrat said, "The best part is the friends we've made. They are all very nice people. And they speak English so well. I'd love to go back to Shenzhen again."
For Zhou Junshu, one of the volunteers, cultural communication is "challenging but satisfying". Another volunteer, Zhang Zebin said it is a true honor "to help develop cultural exchange". "I am so glad to see a growing interest in Chinese culture among my new friends. Some of them even bought books to learn Chinese," Zhang said.
