The four Seasons
Many places have seasons. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. The weather and sunlight change season by season.
We see a lot of young （animal）in spring, chicks hatch（孵）and lambs（羔羊）are born（出生）. There are more daylight hours spring than in winter. In summer, we have good time in the sun. We wear short, light clothing. Summer （have）the most daylight hours. It is very hot and bright. Fruit grows on trees. The （leaf）fall from the trees in autumn. Autumn is a cool season. Birds start to move to warm places in autumn. You can see them in the sky. Winter is cold and （snow）. It has the fewest daylight hours. There are almost no leaves on the trees. It is interesting （make）snowmen.

Britain has four seasons. These four seasons are all about three months long. Spring is in March, April and May. Summer is in June, July and August. Winter is in December, January and February. In Britain, winter is not very cold and summer is not very hot. Why is that? Britain has a mild winter and a cool summer because it is on an island. In winter the sea is warmer than the land. The winds from the sea bring warm air to Britain. The winds from the sea bring cool air to Britain.
The westerly winds (西风) blow over Britain all the year. They are wet winds. Britain is wetter in the west than in the east. The winds blow over the highland in the west, causing more rain to fall there.

Play in the rain
The next time you are indoors or even outdoors on a wet spring day, throw away the umbrella. ____ rain boots and a rain jacket and play outside in the rain. It is a happy time for you.
Go on a picnic
It may be wet sometimes, but on a sunny day, spring gives us good weather for outdoor activities like picnics. This is a good time to go out as a family or group of friends. It must be fun.

What is the best spring activity to free your eyes and neck from phones or computers? Flying kites! On a sunny day with wind, it's exciting to see hundreds of kites flying in the sky. If you want to see lots of colourful kites, you can go to Weifang in Shandong. The city holds a famous kite festival on the third Saturday in April every year.
Lots of animals sleep for a very long time in winter—like frogs, bears, bees, ants and snakes!
In the fall, the bear eats lots of fruits and fish to last a long time. It makes a bed of leaves and twigs（树枝）, then curls up in a ball and falls asleep. Its breathing（呼吸）becomes slow, and its heart beats a lot slower, too!
It won't eat, drink water, or go to the bathroom until spring. When it wakes up after winter sleep, it will be hungry. So it eats almost anything, like meat, wild berries, grass and fish.

There was a man who had four sons. He hoped that his sons could learn not to judge (评判) things too 1 . So he sent them to a very far place, asking them to go and look at a pear tree during different seasons.
