Can you imagine a pair of shoes that could tie themselves? All you would have to do is to put them on and push a button. Well, this idea is becoming a real reality. The shoe company Nike created the self-tying shoe! This idea first came from the movie Back to the Future II, Nike has been working for years to create a shoe that can do this in real life. They have finally done it with Nike HyperAdapt 1.0.
So how do they work? According to Nike, the shoe is “powered by an underfoot-lacing mechanism (脚下系带装置)”. This is kind of like a small motor (发动机) that has the power to lace the shoes. All the wearer has to do is to put them on, and at first, the shoes are very loose (松的). But then you can push the “+” button (按钮), and the shoes will tighten to be the perfect fit for the wearer. To take them off, all you have to do is to push the “-” button, and the shoes will be easily off.
They haven't been released to the public yet, and the cost of the shoes is still unknown. But you might be able to get a pair of your own closer to the holiday season this year.

As a child, I got angry quite easily and was not good at communicating with others.
I still remember it was an early autumn. Some started to turn yellow and the weather became cool. One day, as I was getting ready for school, my mother carelessly handed me my father's vest(背心)instead of At that time, I was getting to have size than my father, so when I put on the vest, I felt as if I wasn't able to breathe! I realized that it was a small mistake which was by my mother, but somehow the breathless feeling was so strong that it made me very angry. My mother said sorry with a smile, but I shouted at herthinking much. I got it off my body so wildly that I made a hole in it. I put on my own vest and rushed out of the house my mother could stop me.
Later, my mother shared her bad feelings with my father, “See what your son has done.” Instead of saying he would scold(责备)or beat me, my father asked my mother to mend the vest.
Later when my mother told me about my father's response, I felt ashamed(惭愧的)of my bad behavior. My father's gentle kindness me a lesson which I would never forget.
On that day, I decided not to let anger me any longer. Of course, there are times when I am angry. However, whenever that happens, I will to remember my father's vest. It always reminds me to think about others' feelings when I get angry.
Gregg's dream was to travel around the Americas(美洲). He got the idea after he finished a long bike ride. Gregg's friend, Brooks, also liked riding a bike. The two friends talked and made a plan, they would travel from Alaska to Argentina by bike.
To pay for the trip, Gregg and Brooks worked to save money for a long time. When they were on the road, they often camped outdoors and ate cheaply. In many places, local people opened their doors to the two friends and gave them food.
On their way, there were deserts, rainforests and mountains. They visited modern cities and ancient ruins. And they made many friends from all over the world.
Two years later, Gregg finally reached Ushuaia, Argentina in May 2007. (Near Guatemala, Brooks had to go back and Gregg continued without him.)
They both learned a lot about traveling. Here are some of Gregg's suggestions.
Travel light. You shouldn't carry many things with you.
Be flexible(灵活的)• Don't plan everything. Then you'll be more relaxed and pleased. Be polite. One traveler told Gregg, "Nobody wants to cheat a nice man." It's true.
